My 8's fine, but my house unfortunately isn't.

Couple of hail stones hit the roof and damaged it pretty badly letting water into the living room.

We had a big thunder at 3.06 this morning. People thought it was an earthquake.

The thunder can be heard as far as Portsea and even recorded in Tasmania.

Also it is the coldest Feb day in record today. 12 degree max. in the middle of summer!

My '8 got nailed by hail last week. Two dents in the bonnet, two in the roof. We missed it today though, luckily.

Apparently the storm originated in the blue mountains west of Sydney and then headed diagonally north east up to the Central Coast (Gosford ) where the Hail was at its worst, it then headed directly east through to Erina ,Kincumber then out to sea.

Unbelieveable.......

ill post some photos up soon.

The skies around Brisbane had lit up as well last night. I am not sure if there was much damage. The south side usually wears the brunt of most storms in Brisbane.

So it looks like the whole eastern sea board was effected.

I was in pyrmont at 4:30 picked up a customer. Wind was crazy felt a few hard hits on the windscreen (Hail) and pulled into the servo... The dame bin from the service station flew away and hit the side of my car. No visable damage though until i actually wash it and inspect it close.

Though It did not fall at all or maybe not as big.

My mothers 626 was trashed by the last hail storm. I heard on the radio that a system is building over melbourne now and chances are its going to hail there.

Regards
Phillip

No hail in sydney's lower north shore (where I was) but lots of rain and flooding of roads.

All cleared up by 6pm. Meant I had to take the dog for a walk after all. After the heat during the day it sure got really really cold at night.

I am in the West Gippsland and it is sunny here but in Melbourne's west there is a storm still around Colac and Geelong. Must have more than 120mm again today there.

Unhappy

Daz, Sorry to hear about you 6, very sad

One of the few times I was glad that I don't get home early!

We didn't get much hail up at Kariong, only really little stuff.

But seems that if you were in the trail from Mangrove Mountain through Somersby then on through Wyoming, North Gosford and on to Erina, then you got nailed.

And it came in two waves little stuff for a few minutes then 5 minutes of rain then HUUUGE hail (tennis.cricket ball sized) for 5 minutes, so that everyone that got under cover for the first round had just ventured out in time to get really trashed ... bugger!

Many hundreds of cars smashed, a couple of insurance companies were saying that they each had over a 1000 claims lodged this morning for the Central Coast alone, though these were for houses and cars all together. So there will be many more to claim, and also many uninsured.

Cheers,

Tony.

Daz,

Sorry to here about the '6.

I've had a couple of close calls back in 98/99 when I narrowly avoided being caught in the open in the storms that kept SE QLD's bodywork shops in business for 15 months (lenght of time it took to get my Dad's car repaired).

Any news from the insurance company?

Hey Tonym,

How's the Winning Blue going? Had your Hymee enhancements fitted?

Greetings All,

Daz, very sorry to hear that your 6 is damaged - I can sympathise with you - in February 1996 our 2 cars were both substantially hail damaged on the Central Coast - one in Gosford and one in Tuggerah. The Vienta was only 5 months old and that repair alone was nearly $7,000. (in 1996 dollars)

Unfortunately even if the windscreen is not broken it has to come out for the repair work and the brutal truth of it is they are never the same after that. The Vienta's wasn't replaced properly and there was wind noise above 60km/h so it had to come out again and get re-installed which worked but all took time.

Then there is the fun of being without the car for several weeks while it is getting repaired... twice in our case.

So this time I am not sorry we missed that particular storm.

A write off would be great for you but I would be surprised if it happened.

Regards
Jeffneil

My house was flooded. The strong winds caused a whole lot of roof tiles to get lifted and let the water pour into the house for hours. A big mess. The wind was so strong I was not able to get onto the roof (2 Storey house) so just had to pretty much just sit there and watch it all come in

Then my boss has the stupidity to call me yesterday and complain that I took the day off to fix the roof. Did I let him have it on the phone... I wonder if I have a job today?

Hi Kiwimeat,

Yep, love the 'Blue and all the (currently available) Hymee Enhancements are now in place, along with the Mazda options that I had before :D Had the exhaust fitted by the local (Central Coast) Mazda Service guys, after talking with DAZ-13B. Also got a Mazdaspeed gear-shift **** through Japanparts which has no painted plastic bits for my wedding ring to wear away - see http://www.japanparts.com/Pic/pic91/14-7.JPG and http://www.japanparts.com/shop/shop....ing%2fShifting

Just took another likely Hymee Exhaust (Winning Blue) candidate for a test drive to verify loverly "noise" and lack of freeway 'droning', he says that he will be fully "Hymeed" along with the Gorilla Kit - any spotters fees in this Hymee???

Cheers,

Tonym.
