I heard the sweet sound of ol' YELRX with her new "enhancements" last night and I'm hoping to take her out for spin tonight.

Will keep you posted.

Update on the "Yellow Peril"

Battle scars have all been tended to with a respraay of boot lid, nose etc so externally its looking a million bucks.

Internally under the bonnet? Well what can I say.

After some fine tuning by Simon @ Promaz to my brothers handy work - 200kw at the rear wheels and running as smooth as silk.

I took it for a spin on Sunday night. WOW!!! Now it has the grunt to match those killer looks.

Cheers

Greg

As a result of discussions with the family director of operations on the above matter, I am currently spending my evenings on the living room couch.

The "Aubergine Machine" has had a touch up of sorts - I managed to score the original rear spoiler off Wills car then my brother bought me the side trims and new front spoiler as well.

The credit cards took a hammering in Europe so I will need time for them to recover before I think of doing anything.

I'm in front for a change but I know I only have a limited amount of time before 'er indoors spends it on renovating the new digs, so I'm trying to decide whether spare rims and semi slicks are worth the bother...

As much as I would like to stay ahead of you at the track Dave I think Semi's would be a great investment for you and you would be posting some serious times there with them..

Cheers Matt but you run out of excuses the more mods you make.

And I'm trying to decide if it's worth it for 2-3 track days a year...

If your answer is to track more, can you speak with 'er indoors for me...

I understand Dave..I was actually about to snap up those 2 tyres for sale in the above thread but I guess I should help the crashed RX2 guy get up and running again.I do think Wakefield should put up the cost after putting in those ridiculous ripple strips!
I also wonder how much the RENEW guys would pitch in if you or I wrote our cars off???

A reasonable question Matt but just sling him some cash like I did and sleep sounder at night knowing you're a good bloke . I do get the impression we're tolerated as owning lesser examples of the ***** out rotors they pedal so furiously but at the same time they've been nothing but welcoming and friendly to me.

If you live by the standards set by others (real or imagined) you'll always shortchange yourself and those around you.

As to Wakefield's liability, nobody told him to hit the ripple strip. I avoided it all day without too many problems. Just a pecadillo of the track you need to accommodate. Hopefully they rethink the size and shape of it though...

If memory serves me,I specifically singled out that ripple strip on the day and advised you to keep well away from it......

Where exactly on the track is this ripple strip? Just so I know to be wary in future as I haven't driven there since the resurfacing.

Cheers
