Got bored so I built this !

Here is a pic of my series 2 simulator which I use when playing Gran Turismo.
I bought a steering wheel and pedal kit for the PS2 a couple of months ago and decided to build a car you could actually sit in to take full advantage of this amazing steering wheel by logitech which has force feed back capability and variable accelarator and brake pedals.
The Sim splits in two halves which makes for easy transportation and was cut from a couple of sheets of MDF. (old water beds are a good use for something)
I also have a shaker cushion which sits behind you back making those ripple strips more realistic ,there are also medium density foam bits in there to make it nice and comfy.
My series 3 version will consist of a real race seat mounted to an alloy frame which will make it easier to get in and out of....I wish Hymee lived a bit closer to me !!

you can actually buy them as a whole kit, they have diff specs, let me find the link....

EDIT:
here is the link i found....
http://members.ozemail.com.au/~racenutz/hyperstim.html
it wasnt the exact site im looking for. the one i want shows you what spec you can get, and the prices. last time i looked at it, about 1.5 years ago, the basic setup is around $650, which incl. all panels, unpainted, ready for assemble, the fibreglass racing bucket seat was about $250 extra. i have experience these things, they are awsome, it makes you feel like a racing car driver. you can have it hooked up to your PS/xbox/computer etc.

I think so DAZ... coz I read somewhere (maybe the Motor mag) that the developer in Japan test all cars on that track.

Hopefully it will be as real as possible. I am doing 1 minute and 6 seconds with stock RX-8 on the Tsukuba circult - just too fast. Normally it is around 1 min 10.

I am very limited to the car I drive.

4WD - EVO VII TME, or R34
FR - RX-7. RX-8.
MR - NSX-R or the LM edition that I have.
FF - DC2R Integra (98 spec), have the old feeling back.

I try to do all the "test drive" of all cars possible on one track. But I am getting a steering wheel like yours for X Mas. Is it very good? I heard it is the best available for PS2.

Love to "drive" with you Daz

re:cycling

Trek is a good bike but now I like the Cannondale carbon fibre. My friend open a bike shop and he sells all kind of bikes (but not Trek). He is much better than anywhere in Sydney. www.letour.com.au. Ask for Stephen Chan (yes it is not a typo)

Love to ride Sydney to Gong again and break the 3 hour barrier - should have done it if it was not raining in 2001! Missed the last few year I am too lazy to come. Now I have a family ... it is not justify to spend so much to go to bike tour, even another Adelaide to Melbourne! Man I love to ride one of those stage ride in July around France?! I want to ride up the Alp d'luez.

I started training again yesterday, mainly to lose weight (I gained 10kg this year though NOT riding :p). Hopefully I will do good times at next Around the Bay. Sydney people should do Around the Bay (210km) or Alpine Classic (150km or 200 km). Sydney to Gong (92km) is nothing :p.

Nah, but geez, I wouldn't mind a series 4 convertible. Am looking for a toy to go with my 8. Maybe a Series 3... but do I go stock, and punt on it becoming a classic ... or go full house 13B turbo

Go full retro Timbo................restore a R100 or Cosmo (if one even exists here in Oz?)

My cousin and I have been toying with the idea of getting a RX7 s6 and going all out on a drag weapon.

Hey daz, apologies for the hijack :o

Hmm, R100 would be cool, if it was possible to find a genuine one. Yes, there are quite a few Cosmos around -- I think Dave Morris says about 130-150 were privately imported in the late 90's. The 20B -- now there's the basis for a good drag car....

I imported around 75 Cosmo's from 00-03.

Now, its just a matter if time before I can swing DAZ-13B back into a Cosmo.. This time it will have 3 rotors under the bonnet. (aka - DAZ-20B)

Back on the subject. I am getting one of the DAZ-13B PS-2 race seat specials from the man himself.

Can't wait to take the RX range through Tsukuba as thats a real high speed "rotary" track.
