Group buy HID light replacements

OK i spoke to the guy from SRS in Sydney and he is willing to do a group buy for HID light bulb replacements

They have two to choose from
1st is 6000k which is brighter than factory with no yellow light in them, only white ( this one is legal )
2nd is 8000k which is very bright and has blue light in them ( not legal )

Our factory light is 4500-5000k if you look at it, it will have a bit of yellow in them

anyway back to the group buy
if we can get 3 or more ppl to buy this
we can get the 6000k one for $250 and the 8000k one for $330 plus postage

I think this is a good buy and if you wanna get an upgrade in light then this is for you

the kit comes with 18months warranty

so if you guys are interested contact me
0412588316
and i give you more detail

Phillip

judging by the number plates i'm sure i saw your black rx8 turning left on to the city west link at Haberfield at about 10am this morning. Not a fan of black but your car looks good.

ok guys i got the 6000k bulb fitted to my car just then.
Well it was very easy to fit only took 20 mins
The 6000k compared to the normal HID was very noticable. first of all the original had a tint of yellow where as the 6000k one is pure white and i mean its white as. It also projects the light more further than the orginal
what else can i say about them?? well i guess im the unique Rx8 in syd lol..

Anyway i also tested the 8000k bulb. The light in that was very bright i mean when you look into the light your eyes hurt but however that did not project the light further just a bit of blue tint. I asked the guy why it did not project further than the 6000k. He said that its cause the blue tint is not as noticable as white so therefore white will project further.

anyway i personally think the 6000k is better but that my opinion
the 8000k one just looks too rice very blue when your far away

anyway if you need any info on them give me a buzz

phillip

HYmee... to answer your question i also asked if you can upgrade hid to the 8 he also can do a package deal
hid conversion kit is $900 for the kit and fitting will be at a proper electrician
it will be cheaper if more than 5

anyway anyone interested can give me a call
im not making any money from this so and it all legit comes with receipt and 18 months warranty

Yeah - I didn't like the look of the washers. Partly why I decided to go with the light weight sports version :D :p

Cheers,
Hymee.

Agree with Skyline! Also the H9 bulb for the high beam!

I am in ifSkyline is in and we can do it together over a beer or something --- too bad it is winter not summer otherwise it is perfect for a summer night isn't it!

How much is it btw oh $250 ... hmm

Firstly,...Hymee ....unfort. HID capsules will only fit in cars equipeed with them, so NOT the cloth pack....

If u'd like the capsules, you'll have to go for the kits. These can be bought from overseas. some excellent brands are "PIAA", "CATZ", "IPF", BELLOF". tHESE KITS "HOUSE" the capsules.

2ndly.....

I Just wanted to Thank "8ABY 8" for the car low-down today, met him briefly during my lunch break....awesome car phillip.

Yeah and Hymeee, that is a sweeeet exhaust note you got there.

People, Phillips bulbs are pretty f#@!#n nice, they are a very very sharp, pure white, just like fresh white cotton towels...

I want to know where I can get replacement bulbs for the parkers and fog lights
The current yellow vs white HID combo doesn't work for me
I want the whole set to be bright white similar to the headlamps

to fit light bulbs for HID check the DIY section.

900 bux HID replacement kit is in 2004.. look at the thread date, now days you can get a cheap kit for less then 300 bux.. but use at own risk.. for more reputable brand such as Philips, CAT, Raybrig.. they are still quite expansive.. but not 900.. 900 was when civics and and corollas still use halogen rice bulbs that dont blind you when they come from opposite traffic.. now days bcoz HID conversion so cheap.. everyone converts to it.. but the problem is bcoz their light housing never had the HID projector lens bulb that concentrate the light and focus it on ground.. rather their light housing makes the HID light all scatter and blind anyone that looks at it.. sigh ~

That is right, you spend money on something that you can't see and every one in the opposite direction can.... why it is worthwhile then. Just get some nice bulbs

Taka, any idea where I can get some nice bulbs to replace the current ones in the parkers and the foglights?
Any brands to recommend?

When I travel to Asia and ask what they use. They said Philips (which is popular here) is not as good as Polarg, Raybing??, or PIAA.

Polarg is the most expensive of all. $80 a pair in current AUD$ rate

H7 for low beam (cloth pack) and H9 for high beam. H11 for fog lights for mine....
