I think I'll consider a move to Tasmania...
Car Theft Recovery rates. Tasmania is the 'best' place to have your car stolen, since one has a 92% chance of getting it back.
TAS 92%
ACT 78%
NT 75%
QLD 70%
VIC 67%
NSW 63%

Gun used in carjacking RX-8
I thought I might share this around. It was on today's MX paper - page 5
"A man was threatened with a gun during a carjacking in Lidcome last night.
The victim was driving his silver Mazda RX8 in Strathfield when he noticed he was being followed at 10.30pm.
Police said a Subaru WRX with four people inside blocked the RX8's path on Railway St, Libcombe. Two men in balaclavas threatened the driver with a gun before fleeing in the Mazda.
Anyone who sees the Silver RX8, registration AZV-24G should not approach the vehicle, but instead call Triple 0. Witnesses should contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000."
