Hanother Hymee Hexhaust Happy Homily
Let's take it from the top, for Hymee's peace of mind.
The parcel arrived intact except for one corner, which had been stove in due to abusive handling. Naturally it was a tip corner, but no damage.
Emerging from the carton, the tips appear enormous, as big as my donger ( well the two would be if put together) and make the factory fit look positively pre-pubescent.
Being a cocky I was determined to do the lot myself, however once the whole mid-pipe back assembly was detached I realised one of the threads on the original U bolt had stripped whilst I was undoing it. This meant a trip to town for a replacement, and I was grateful I took the assembly with me to our local metalworker. The crimp where the factory fits the U bolt is considerable: no way I could have expanded it at home even using heat.
All up I would say less than an hour's work to strip and re-assemble, and the intallation is a shoe-in, less than 10 minutes.
Ought I go on and report the test drive, or leave Hymee hanging for another day? Life's short, party now!
I am in absolute admiration of the subtle enhancement that Hymee and Les have added to the hexhaust note: it is grown-up, not crass, befitting our Gentleman's sportscar. Many might say too sober (probably including my two daughters) but it is EXACTLY
the appropriate timbre for our rotary.
"Loosened up" is what the 8 said to me when we went for a spin. My dyno is neither butt nor machine but a short straight leading out of a sweeping corner on the secondary road outside my property. Most days I can achieve 205 km without scrubbing the tyres in the corner nor applying the brakes so hard that ABS is employed whilst slowing down for our driveway. Thisafternoon I reached 212 (on the third run) with the same lack of drama - but an enhanced shitload of cows looking and listening on. In high-rise streets the sound must be awesome.
(Incidentally in the sti I could reach 220, so thanks to Hymee we're getting there.)
Here is a happy farmer, and it's not often you hear that.
To complete a memorable day I parked outside our local, which has a verandah onto the street, attending a rugby club meeting. The players, most of them 30 years my junior, were in awe of the tips. Understandably, when departing, I bounced off the rev-limiter in 1st and 2nd. This cat-back will add considerably to OPEC trade balances!
HYmee, take another bow!

Some of us need to buy name brands so we can feel good about ourselves and tell our friends that we have a certainwell known brand .
Icall this **** less value .
As for me id rather have a no name brand and have the spare money for 6 girls to jump out of the box . ha ha ha
With your FUJITSO exhaust the only thing that will jump out of the box is the extra dollars that you spent .
cheers

Thanks for sucessfully hijacking a perfectly legitimate thread.
The exhaust looks worse than the Borla. And the girl...
So how much was it Taka? C'mon - time to spill the beans.

This thread is all about your exhaust.... which I think is the best RX-8 exhaust made in the southern hemisphere... (honest)
$750 is a great price. But I think the sound is too much for me. I am a bit modest. You see I could have gone for the HKS (if I am into brands) but rather chose the functions that Fuji Legalis R has made for...
Hehe it is $1500 and I expect delivery in 4-5 weeks... well if I say more than this will be a seperate thread.
BUY HYMEE EXHAUST!

L&L + Hymee, I agree.
I'll take a system meticulously hand built by a craftsman over a big companies fashion dictated system anyday.
Whats this southern hemispere crap? As evident from the pictures seen here, the Hymee cat back system is as good as anything available anywhere in THE WORLD.
I have seen lots of JDM crap made by big companies for the consumption of brand ******.....have a look at the AFR's that some of the JDM big name tuner ECUs create!
Lets be proud of the local product - the cultural cringe isnt cool anymore :D

Taka, you are making a huge assumption about big companies and R&D. IME, a lot of stuff is just bunged together. Or, there is a fanatic, just like Hymee, who -- despite all the bureaucratic obstacles placed in front of him -- gets the product out the door. But it's your money. And it's only a cat-back (meaning it is not a major piece of technology)
Just my 2¢, as they say

R&D my ****. This is a cat back system. Not a particle seperator.
Any competent engineer / craftsman can design a system as good, if not better than can a major company who's MARKETING department concocts this R&D B.S. and then asks the CONSUMERS what they want to buy - Ie. whats cool this year.
However, people are free to pay double the price for the same thing if they wish....it just aint for me.
You see my business IS marketing..........you cant scam this scammer :D

Sorry to upset you.
I know I have made a choice based on the show girl
How close was I getting your exhaust Hymee? HEHE
I may regret later on when I hear L&L's exhaust when he gets down here but I am happy with what I ordered based on the fact that I saw so far.
