Bummer on the bad luck mate.
DAZ-13B copped that on his Cosmo some years back. Thankfully it was witnessed by some work mates at Mazda & the truckie had little option but to fess up & give his details.
Copped it in the rear, just aswell insurance fixed it.
$880 for a Cosmo boot lid is scarey........

Dude, that's not rude. Rude is not saying "bless you" when someone sneezes. Rude is not holding the elevator for someone. Rude is burping without saying "excuse me."
What happened to you...that was property rape. I feel for you.

I would have guessed that your response is about the purchase of Insurance. In response to Ezzy's question, I think we need a legal person in the insurance industry.
And what more persuasive tactics are you talking about? hopefully not the kind that would make you as bad as the person who hit RjT's car and left without a note?

Hey guys and girls, yeah thanks for the compassion. yeah property rape sounds about right , House in front of the car had lounges delivered and my car was right beside thier driveway so this guy must have missed judge. At the time I had no witness but one of my work mates actually left around 11o'clock and when driving off he saw a truck run into a car (said car being mine he just didnt know it).
Insurance company still says im at fault at moment until they talk to the witness and the company involved (im guessing because I had no witness originally when making the claim)
Work will cover my excess but it makes me one step closer to losing my rating one plus the inconvience factor and pure bullshit factor of getting my lovely new car fixed.
Pics attached

is this with justcars? i had that extra bit for the rating 1 protection when I was with them also. i made a claim durin the year also. when renewal came i remained rating 1 but then my premium was up a bit and they added "car excess" ontop of my normal excess (normal excess for my age and gender was $1250 plus that car excess was $1500)!! dont know if they was something new at the time or because of my claim. i ended up switching insurance..... lol

I pay $680 and have a $400 excess and I'm 24!!!
It's the most thorough policy I've ever seen! It gives me a choice of insurer and it allows me to regulate stuff, like parts & panels (I can stipulate that they HAVE to be new if I make a claim, no mainstream policy will do that, not even shannon's) etc ... and I even get contents insurance in the case that stuff gets stolen from my car! I hope I never use it, but pretty good eh?
God I hope my situation doesn't change though ... it's a sweet deal!

As for 'fault', I'd have a go at them about that if I were you. If the car was parked legally at the relevant time, they'd have a very hard job of proving fault.
Insurers specialise in pushing around younger customers. They believe that if they say 'no' often enough, many will just cop it on the chin. You'll obviously have to pay your excess (if you can't find this creep in the truck) but it shouldn't be recorded as an at fault accident on your insurance record.
BTW, since we're talking insurance, I'm happy to again rubbish NRMA - a company that is the absolute worst in the insurance game IMHO. Run a mile before insuring with them is my advice.
