Hymee Grille Kit MkII.

Hymee Grille Kit MkII.
....and you thought that only Hymee could start a thread with a title like that .
Hi Gents...., I'm gonna push to have Hymee make an addition to his range of RX-8 products. I need you all to help me. Post your demand in this thread and together we can make it happen :p .
Below are pics of my damaged aircond condenser. Luckily for me, the stone that caused the damage did not puncture the soft alloy tubes and vent the refrigerant. As I have had the Hymee grille on since my first week of ownership, the only way a stone of this size could have made impact is by passing through the front grille assembly at numberplate height. Had it punctured the condenser, I would have been up for $800 plus.
I propose a powdercoated stainless mesh like Hymee's current grilles, this one to be mounted behind the grille so that it protects the upper section of the condenser. sco apparently has something like this on his car...I'm sure he's happy to see it may have saved him some heartbreak.....
Get behind me and help me to help you! Petition Hymee here today .
Cheers,
Gomez.

Is there a free upgrade for recent (like Tuesday) purchasers?
Before you know it we'll have the whole car surround by a fine mesh and look like a mobile fly-screen. :p
ps I think I am counting hours until my RX-8.

Does anyone know whether the entire plastic grille (where the number plate is located) can be removed cleanly?
If so, I would like to see Hymee develop a grille to replace this plastic piece to allow more airflow through (protected airflow of course).
That's the only type of grille I'll be interested in, but good luck to you Gomez.

Mate, yes it can be removed....and it can be done simply. However, I imagine Hymee (should he fall under the spell of my considerable charm) would be looking at producing a simple mesh grille like the one I am proposing. He has superchargers to build....I only wish to divert his attention for a proverbial minute...

Correct... my grille does extend upwards behind the numberplate. It could be possible that this could be added as an extra piece (a Mk II upgrade kit) - I'll raise this next time I chat to Hymee.

Hymee, maybe a fork in the development of the Grill Kit:
1. Standard Hymee Enhanced Grill Kit Mk II - with extended protection behind the existing plastic "dress grill", just an evolutionary addon
2. The Premium Hymee Enhanced Dress Grill Kit - with a full powdercoated stainless mesh "Dress Grill" and the existing Lower Grill and Oil Cooler Grill to give full protected air flow with a new-look nose grill - he says thinking of the Jag S-Type R mesh grill but in Black.
So this is giving a choice of Standard or Premium Protection Grill products. Ahh, the product range continues to grow and evolve
Cheers,
Tony.

I made my own metal mesh grilles for the lower scoop and the small left and right scoops(in the days just before Hymee's hit the market) and I considered making one for the 'main' grille too. A plain grille would be simple enough, and would look good too, but it would cover the towing holes.
I considered simply covering the holes, and adding some tin snips (or similar) to the tool kit - after all the chances of needing to use the hooks are probably not all that high. But I also thought that I might see if I could come up with a slicker solution. Since then it has slipped to number 176 on my "To Do" list.. :D
Gomez,
Sad to hear of your encounter with the stone. I wondered about exactly that possibility when I had the front off fitting the other grilles...
