Can we please a have a sub forum in the Aussie forum title "Party A vs Party B" and keep threads that lead into 5 year old, tit for tat, he said she said arguments in there?

Not having a go at any one party as I dont want to be a part of what I am complaining about, but I am utterly and thouroughly sick of this. I rarely bother to check in here anymore because of the sheer amount of BS to be waded through for the real information. I also know of 3 other who have said the same thing (admitedly they aren't frequent posters here, but all the same...).

Agreed. Lets keep it interesting please! We definately run the risk of alienating potentially good memebers with much to contribute.

Cheers,
Hymee.

Andrew, I'm doing my bit to reduce the crap. This thread has resulted in the reduction of superfluous posts by at least ONE forum member!!!

Not meaning it to be directed at Hymee as he is a vendor, but there is also the potential loss of revenue to vendors.

'Mez, funny as the response is, we could have all been saved the "Desperate House Wives" epsiode by taking it up with an independant Moderator.

Crappy soapies = "Monday Night, Channel 7 @ 8:30pm"
'Mezes usefull informative posts on the RX-8 = www.rx8club.com

subforum is an excellent idea.

Hymee a job for you.

There are of course subforums in the rx8club.com.au site and it works quite well.

Fair enough. In my defence, I had my suspicions about the person(s) posting from Adl/GC, but until Rotarygod stepped in with IP info, I was in the dark.

One thing is for certain though. This thread will act as a deterrent against anyone considering dual persona's in future.

Dare I say it... We do have a sub-forum... It is the .au site itself.

And it has the private members area as well.

Cheers,
Hymee.

Andrew,

I don't understand your comments, this isn't about "fiction".

I'm a sub 1 post per day man on average! We all get tired of some of the dross, like being in a noisy pub sometimes.

This thread got renamed cause of few of the long time "posters", reacted to a post by an independent moderator, querying two users on the same IP adress.

I note that I recently publically thanked one of those members in the help he offered in my RX8 #2 search.

I must admit I'd like an explanation and it only required one of the ID's to post some evidence of identity. To that end I asked for this bloke to identify a couple of landmarks that every South Aussie (Adelaide anyway) over 12 would probably get right. Silence so far.

This community is based on trust and common interest, like any group people will brag and have disagreements, that's normal. But I don't like being conned.

Vendors are an important part of the sustance of the community but not the purpose.

In the end vote with your mouse and don't look at this thread!

Mike

Yes but until you have the sub forum here you cant say "Post moved to more appropriate 'useless information' section".

That way, people who want to read it know where to look and those that dont can get on with what the forum is about.

mikey, as i understand it, auzoom isn't just commenting about this thread's purpose. He's against the large amount of general chit chat that has pervaded these parts lately.

I can't say I'm opposed to his comments.

Not at all. It is more tidy to have a Off topic forum, which was achieved in clubrsx to say one regional forum in a US-based site.

It should also work well here.

Mikeyr, I have only once bought into the discussion about the glass mufflers and that was to post a constructive argument.

I didnt intend to give the impression that I had an opinion anyway on this particuolar discussion because, as I have said previously, I think it should have been an issue kept between the accusor and the moderators. This is a forum about the RX-8 and not somewhere, no matter how true or false, to accuse people of living a double life.

All I was trying to do was ask for somewhere that threads like these can be stuck away where poeple who are interested in them can find them, but not interfere with people who are genuinely interested in just finding information about the RX-8. Just like I have argued for an Australian "Lounge" sub forum (sorry to all you post ****** ;-)). Like many others in here, I work long hours a day, I use this forum as one of the ways to help me breakup my days. I dont get long to be on here and I hate having to wade through stuff like this.

Again, I wasn't wanting it to be a major deal, just a suggestion. As for your thank you thread, why would that be an issue. Its great information for anyone else wanting to know about buying a new '8.

Andrew I see your point, but I'm kinda glad this all happened out in the open. As I said earlier, hopefully no-one will consider going down this path in future.

As far as the sub-forum idea goes, we have a sticky Lounge. That's all you're going to get. This forum is structured by the powers-that-be in the States. This is the way it's going to stay.

The .com.au forum is the other alternative for you.

Just to clarify, I've asked before if I can make sub forums, but the answer, as stated by Gomez, is NO.

Hymee.

Andrew fair call,

Hymee, constructive comment, can't the lounge be archived regularly.

People might use it more if it wasn't so damn long. I would, I got a reasonably silly question that I'm going to start a new thread on cause i know no one would find it in the lounge and i'd like an answer.

Could we have a "new lounge" & a "front bar" even?

that'd be an awesome setup/config taka, but for some reasons, i dont think it'd be a goer...
just imaging what the admin(s) would have to do to re-structure the whole forum setup.

lets be greatful for what we have atm.... why fixing it if it isnt broken ;-p
