Installing Hymee's kit today (15/11) - help wanted!

Guys, I think I'll get into the install this morning...

I'm around Crows Nest... if anyone is interested in helping out or having a look at the mess I create of my car...email me at my home address.

Wish me luck!

Great kit - Hymee.... now I can drive protected !

By the way... I found a dead bird jammed in against the main grill !

Just goes to show - if it had been a rock !!!

Other comments...

- With the kit installed - it's really clear that the gap is an oversight in the design at the front.

- I painted over the tops of the screws with some black paint - makes them completely invisible from outside.

No...a solo effort !

I think a little more notice might have helped round up some support.

I've got the front spoiler painted and waiting to go on. Where should I measure to look for a difference?

msydd,

Sorry I couldn't reply to now - but it looks like you got it done no problems at all! Great Stuff!

Kev,
I suppose you need to check for differences in the size of the lower opening. If the spoiler is something that just bolts on below the splitter, then I think you will be OK. Can you post photos?

pricer01 - the hardest thing at the moment is deciding how many I should make up this time!

Cheers,
Hymee.

Hymee,

How about Bloody Heaps!

NO, in seriousness you know what the demand is so common sense will prevail, that is of course so long as you don't leave me out!:D (Former LS1 owner!)

Do you miss your V8 at all? I miss the sound of mine.

I think the street beat exhaust will be the solution!

When's a local tuner going to get serious about importing bits for the 8? I'd be tempted to import an exhaust system if I though I had a hope of it not getting bent, crushed or mistaken for a portable rocket launcher in an xray machine.

Ah that's it, racing beat - not street beat. I got the beat right, must have stuffed the melody

700 - wow, I suppose it's a sprint to a 1000 now. I don't think my poor old brain has another 300 thoughts in it.

JoeD,

I miss the torque. But don't miss the rattle, the oil consumption, the weight...

I should be able top go and get the materials this week and crank up the production line again!

Just a very gentle reminder, in little letters, and not directed at anyone...

This forum is not a post race, unless of course the posts add value to the discussion, and are on topic.

If you wan't to have general chat, how about using an IRC channel?

And no - I am not grumpy cause England finally scored a try. Just doin my 'job'.

Cheers guys!

Hymee.

:D

PS - I think L&L should see Dr. Takahasi for the treatment of Yellow Feaver.

Hell, if you're serious - quite a lot of pizza and JD I'd say, I don't drink as such but I'm willing to start * hee hee *

I've just posted my request off for the kit ( thanks hymee ) - so I'll be in need of some real help.

As I've said before, if it's a 1RU or 2RU 19" rack mount I'm right at home, but the front end of my 8, well it's the front end .. I know that might!

++dez;

ps: what's your passion - gormet, the hutt, domino's, pino's or maralina's famous by the way?

Mmm,

Don't know about pino's or maralina's, but willing to sample . Partial to Eagle Boys or Pizza Haven of late.

I'm not a big drinker, but since I had a tour of the JD distillery, Lynchburg TN, I am pretty hooked. Imagine what I would be like if I had a tour of the Mazda factory

Cheers,
Hymee.

Dez, let me know when you're planning the install and if I can I'm happy to come and lend a hand !

I'm not a mechanical genius either... but having done it once will definitely help.

I'm also not a big drinker... but the pizza sounds good!

Dez, msydd, and Hymee,

Would there be space for one more Winning Blue to join the installation squad? I'll match Dez's Pizza & JD supplies so you won't go hungry nor dry!

I just don't have the confidence of dismantling that awesome RX8 face - but I'll happily attack any of your racks Dez!

Sydney dudes...

I have been tossing the idea around with Dez that I could come to Sydney for the weekend (+ some), bring my Wife + 2 for a small holiday, spend some time RX-8'ing and spending a afternoon/evening doing a few grills. If there was a few of you willing to chip in for my flight, and help with accomodation, in lieu of a fitting fee, then we could hatch a plan.

Wadya reckon?

Cheers,
Hymee.

I'm sure we're all into the idea of a f2f to meet y'all and I'd like to think we're all up for a slice of the round trip and accom if only to pay homage * grin * for the now infamous Hymee's Bar and Grill kit or to do a group install / review / brag about doing it yourself [ homage to msydd ].

I'd take ( + some ) days off from the office too if only for more drive time!

bit of a roll call there for your PM list's kids.
