It's very quiet in here....

Drove away from the Mazda dealer tonight, and immediately noticed....nothing. Not a sound. Nada, niente, rien, nichts. No tyre noise anymore. Well perhaps, just the tiniest little bit when I drove over a new stretch of smooth hotmix. I drove home without the radio on, luxuriating in the silence. So Timbo, perhaps the fault lies not with the RX-8, but with the rubber with which it is shod (forgive me for the very bad paraphrasing of Cassius). Whatever other criticism can be levelled at the Fulda Exelero, it can be denied that these are quiet little puppies.

It'l be a while before I can make a qualitative assessment about how the car handles. I believe it can take a 100km or so before the mould release compound is worn from the surface. I couldn't say too much tonight - the traffic was quite heavy on the way home.

One thing I did notice is the appearance of the 245/40's on the wheel compared to the 225/45. They seem to be a better fit. The RE040's seemed, well, stretched on the rims.

Sounds good. Do those tyres have a rim protection ridge? (that's the one downside of the 245 Yokos I fitted )

Sorry, I didn't check. You can chase info. through Fulda . It's their flagship tyre and heavily promoted.
