apparently it costs a very pretty penny to install

people who have the final gear have reported a higher consumption in fuel (could be just them booting it around a lot more) and a higher idle (around the 3-4k mark)

Well I am interested in the 4.77 ratio gear set that is the same ratio they are using in the series 2 rx8.I doubt the new rx8 will idol at 3-4k and use more fuel than current model..

Of Course the final gear cost a lot, but this is the "final gear" 1 : 5,125. I`m sure I will gain a lot on the track and don`t think my 55lit/10km will increase. This winter I`m redusing carweight as well, something like 100 kg, so with appr. 1150 kg I`m sure I`ll make some god race. I think my car is worth it.
I`m glad to notice that Mazda change the final gear to 1:4,77.
