I have had 4 Aussie muscle cars and they don't tickle my fancy I'm afraid. They are not well built IMHO and they don't have the identity that the 300C has. All this being said I am looking at buying in the next 18 months or so and so re-sale will have a lot to say about whether I purchase or not. I don't want the yummy mummy look so will settle for the Yank tank anyday!!! I don't like the Aurion , they spent more money on the ad than the car......
Hehe ... if you want a Diesel that looks good and all that other stuff, there's always the Range Rover Vogue Td6 ... and at $131k it's great value! Or there's always the E280 CDi estate at about $110k .. which is great value and looks better than both!

I have driven the 300C ... and apart from the looks which don't really do it for me anymore, I'm not sorry to say, it doesn't do anything for me.

But, beauty is in the eye of the beholder after all ... so if you like it ...

... buy it!

LOL ... thanks for correcting me by saying exactly the same thing. For customer service I'd much rather Jaguar to be perfectly honest!

Agree with all that Julia.

I doubt local quality is any better than the Yanks and the 300C has it all over them in the exterior styling stakes. It's also hard to find better torque for the money.

I personally find the interior a bit average and the rear seating is pretty small for such a large car but otherwise there's certainly a lot of appeal about them. MikeyR also has a soft spot for them.

Just promise me that if you get one you fit something like this rim.

The magazine comparo's between a 300C and the local Fairmont/Calais were quite favourable. By all accounts it's not a bad bus, and it looks horn. You'd HAVE to get black though, right?

Large black wagons always remind me of funeral directors' cars. I suppose some people wouldn't mind that though.

I think I'd prefer something like Ti grey. Classy on a larger car and more practical than black in a hot, dusty place like Adelaide and its environs.

Ok I like that...it's noice!!!

Yes Bruce mentioned that if we get one we will get some serious bling rims on it!!! LOL he also talked about getting plates for it..."Stiff" Which would turn some heads...poor taste...but hey it's only money...

I like the idea of a dark coloured one with black tint on the windows and big rims so we'll see what the next year brings.....

hey that's good to know as one writeup I read was a bit nasty on the car. I agree it's a bit bland inside...but driving it is relaxing and when you want to go it goes....lotsa torque....

Yes black or dark blue is growing on me...the one I drove was silver and I liked that too.....I love the silver cars.......especially my 8...even though they are sposed to be cursed.....

Yes if you look at the American threads they reckon the sunlight silvers are cursed....am starting to wonder as the roller door shut on the back of the car last night and marked my lovely new bumper.... Will have to go back and get it touched up.

It's only a theory though and I am not really superstitious so I will continue to run the gauntlet!!

Ouch! Is it bad? Or just a few scratches? It may come off with a bit of polish

I've been toying with the idea of getting a 300c wagon for use as the family bus.

I do beleive that the aussie versions are built in Austria as opposed to the North American versions which are built in Canada...

You are quite right. The guy we spoke too knew everything about the car...which impressed me a lot. Austria is where he told us they were put together...

What do you think the resale will be?
I am told insurance is an issue with hefty premiums...so am going to call Shannons to ask about this....

We've all got different ideas about classy car colours Tim.

For me, classy is understated. For others, it's a bright colour.

Julia, dont worry about what other ppl think of your current/next purchase...... you can not please everyone....

i alos dont understand why ppl need to go an extra mile to disagree/put someone down just becasue he/she has different opinion(s).

its your time/money, do whatever pleases you. (and your hubby of course...)
