Im using it. Managed to catch up with a few old friends (and Girlfriends :|). I dont mind it but it unfortunately hasnt caught on as much as it needs to to be useful, and as you said there are some demographics that find it a little difficult to use.
My thoughts are, setup your profile so that as more people catch on, they can find you. You dont have to do much day to day, so long as your profile allows people who want to find you to be able to. I think if everyone did that it would become a great tool.
It could do with de-yankafying.

Some (admittedly much younger) friends convinced me to jump on the Facebook bandwagon last week.
I can see how it would be useful for people with farflung mates and/or a loose social network but I fear most of my, ahem, older friends aren't in the demographic, lol.
Has anyone here bothered with it yet? Pros? Cons?
Currently debating whether to junk it or not.

Just so you know Dave I put my profile up on Facebook (I got converted) and the concept looks good, but I'm in the **** enough with my wife without spending more time on another site...

I wondered what that facebook emails were all about. I have them set as spam on our network, that and friendster, and a couple of those social engineering sites.
Guess I'll have to be less grumpy and slower in hitting the "this address is spam" button LOL.

I use FaceBook,
It is pretty good. I have caught up with heaps of old friends and as Dave mentioned it is a good way to keep in contact with widely dispersed friends. I have a few friends interstate and O/S and it is easy to share photos, videos and stuff.
Given my age demographic I was surprised at the amount of people I knew using it.
I give it a thumbs up
(re-reading my post I sound like an Advertisement - sorry)
Enjoy

Well gang I've decided to resurrect this topic again and I hope this time around we can discuss it in a more 'conciliatory' manner, as I know a lot of us are very keen to find out the answer to this question....
Has anyone heard from Missy K or Cromax? I would like to know how are they going......

Thanks Andrew and Dave, but what I have to say is better out in the open rather than PM. I think we all know each other enough by now.
Nate and Kall...I hope you respect my decision to send you this on the lounge, the same way I also respect your decision to no longer post here.
I'm sorry to see you guys arn't talking, however I hope you are well and still 'keeping in touch'. You've helped keep this forum alive and inspiring others on your views, sense of humour and love of the RX8. Therefore I hope you will reconsider your options....
All of us from time to time get 'slam dunked' but we pick ourselves up off the ground, dust ourselves off and keep moving forward. We have to apply that rule in our every day of our lives...
If this is it...well all I can say is that you guys had a good run while it lasted.
I'll close by saying I wish you both luck, and more so maintain your love of your RX8.
All the best

Well hello,
Andrew directed me here as I don't check the forums anymore.
I won't bring up my reasons on here again, however putting that aside as I believe I'm a grown up (can't say much about few others), I have been very busy at work and fixing up my new place.
Work is flat out and fact my dad and I just bought a 2 storey office building to move into by christmas, only makes things more tense! Not only am I now shopping for my home, I'm shopping for new office furniture too.
My house is coming along, got most my furniture, just electrician doing his job now and then the painter and I'm set.
Still have the RX8 - she's much neglected at the moment but finding there are few more important things that need taking care of first. I'm still in the loop dont worry, I'm still doing my job as Secretary of Ozrenesis, checking the mail, registering new members, communicating with the newbies, and sending out member cards and stickers etc.
Thanks for the wishes Trevor, shame you wont be joining us in October.

I don't think either of our cars have seen a sponge since July, if not before!
We've both been busy working and studying and I don't think it's going to stop anytime in the next couple of months. So little time, so much to do.
But it is nice to get well wishes, so thanks so much Trev ... you're not coming in October?

Yea we perhaps need a car wash day lol
I have this dry car wash stuff which a client of mine now sells, we havent had time yet to test it, Cromax was ment to do it on his car first :P Client tested it on my dads car and dad said it was pretty good. I guess if we have time tomorrow we may give it a go hey Nate?

Hey Kall,
Glad to hear work and home life are motoring along for you. I'm sure your pup is also keeping you busy, lol.
We tried that Meguiar's dry car wash stuff at the Nats last year and I thought it worked fine. No scratches either, but it may depend on how filthy your car is to begin with.
See you in October...

Puppy isnt mine anymore!! Our family dog died last month and mum didnt take it too well. She kind of leeched onto Tiger and last week after having my new fences done and also spending more to get extra timber put into the ground around the fences (to stop dog from digging) mum asked me if she can keep Tiger... I said yes lol We decided to buy a kitty instead... bit easier to maintain so I think we've settled on the Burmese kitty, just waitin to move in first and then will go looking for breeders

Kall and Cromax, I couldn't be happier to see you both of you kicking some goals and your house is coming along fine as are your RX's...even if they do need a good wash (blame it on water restrictions)
Your contributions are greatly appreciated by all and I'm glad your back.....you both provide an excellent source of information and more so help others out when they need it. Welcome back..........and best wishes....

...and regarding October...a lot of it will depend on Mr Howard sending me back my tax return in time, which will then provide me with the much needed cash flow I'll need to make it happen!
I'll keep you posted.

My car did a trip to whoop whoop last weekend, Nate did a V8 Buggy driving day. (He might fill you in those details, I have lots of pix to share tho!) Those roads so not made for my 8 lol who would have thought id be scrapping on normal friggin streets!! Mud everywhere.. ohh I was trying so hard to keep a brave face lol That was on the Saturday, then on Sunday I drove up to my parents hobby farm for Fathers Day to surprise dad and my car copped some more dirt lol at least driving through the mountains was fun though
