Cromax... sometimes you should rephrase your wording. I am sure you mean the followings.

To be honest.... who knows the ACTUAL intention of the guy. On surface, he is a guy that chases some money that has not been paid, whether he deserves it or not (AND we don't know that) and we should not judge.

Gomez just presumes that he is on the right to chase whatever he assume that he deserves,.... he is right to a certain extent. BUT... NONE of us know the background and details. So let's not presume WHO is right and WHO is wrong here...

Next time, if someone on the internet or MSN or even on the phone asking about your personal details, I will not give it either. I cannot assume all the requests of this kind are of good intent unless I actually know the person that I am give it to and the exact reason behind it.

The last time I gave this kind of information is an official email .... not personal email either.

I just think I should do what I can (and well think I should) to protect all the members here. So I lock the thread. If he gets something via PM, so be it. But not in a thread. In fact, I will be easier if he goes through PM system, not a public post that you can google. You get me here? It is like an official record.

And may be "defamation" is a wrong word in my last post ... sorry that is my Chinglish working well there... but it may be close to some dude right red paint on your door step saying, "give me my money back". (may be this is exaggerated either but I somehow think nowadays with wide public access of internet it is probably not).

I have given the guy an offer of PM to talk to me, but yet he has not....

It is legal to say foul language to your kids, but it is not appropriate.

Cyber bullying is legal, but it is outright inappropriate.

thank you to those who sent me a message

Thank you for those who sent me messages to offer assistance in obtaining the contact details. Yes, good were fitted and installed as we offer on business credit as is normal, but were unpaid.

And this is not just my business, but several other business too who have been left 'dry'.

As the administrator ("Stephen") has kindly suggested, and after the unexplained deletions of my message on the Audi Australia and Aus Rotary, my repeated PM's to the 'person' involved, I think we will go ahead and pursue other means of collecting the debt.

Thank you and I am sorry if I wasted your time.

Anthony.

All due respect Anthony.... we should not be put in a position to give out any personal details of any member from this forum to any outside unknown party.

Whilst you may be right in attempting chase down your funds via the internet, there is also a moral issue and we don't know any of the background details.

None of us should be put in a position to lay 'guilt' or receive information which may damage ones character. We cannot assume all requests for personal information is paved with good intentions.

There are other lawful search methods to try and identify a person’s whereabouts. If the RX-8 forum became a haven for people to obtain personal details on anyone then the forum will lose not only its credibility, but its membership.

Therefore - I will not give information about any member of this forum to any outside person...end of story. If others chose to do so then that’s their prerogative.

It might be more prudent to PM an administrator next time around....

When did you become the holder of the high moral ground around here? I don't recall voting for you.

No-one is "forced" to forward details about EZZY's whereabouts to Mr Cascio. They do what they wish. No-one is "put into any position".....they chose their own path.

Personally, I believe Mr Cascio has acted in a very honorable way here....he is the one that's been wronged.

I can't believe he's being flogged with a wet lettuce for trying to retrieve payment for goods previously supplied. Good Samaritans of the world, look the other way.

It's no comfort, but you were not the first to come here searching for him.

Good luck, hope you get your money back.

You have missed my point. When someone joins a club purely to obtain personal information on a member (irrespective if its true or not) I am saying that they shouldn't. Thats why we have lawyers and debt collectors who are paid to do that job. That's the issue.

It is the Moderators who impose the standards on this forum, and this isn't what you think it's about. I'm not on your case for having an opinion I disagree with - but there is no point flaming me for your opposing opinion. As a result I have seen the boundaries been pushed over and over again. I'm sure some of you would like to get involved in this conversation but half the reason why they don't is fear of getting flamed for it.

I am specifically referring to how members should behave on this forum and follow the rules. Anyone can post all the information they want on others on the 'outside' but I urge caution...check out point 7 on the forum rules..... https://www.rx8club.com/faq.php?faq=...q_user_conduct

Don't get me wrong...good debate is healthy. As long as it dosen't get personal its fine, but at the same time we have to keep within the rules. It's not a flame war site, and I think this forum is one of the better sites in this regard.

People who join up this forum just to chase down outstanding debts is the wrong reason for joining in the first place. I suggest they don't understand our forum rules and they should be reminded as such.

My whole point of this discussion is in an attempt to prevent this forum from degrading into a debt collectors free for all....and in turn will turn it into something not worth visiting.

If anyone else thinks I'm wrong on this point please say so....

Why are we still talking about this? Perhaps this thread should be renamed "Forum Ethics 101"?

WRT point 7 of the forum rules: Enforcer, you don't read the Good Guy/Bad Guy sub-forum and neither does anyone else here. Anthony Cascio's thread would not have been seen there.

If you had your way, Christopher Skase would still be posting on the Learjet Forum from the comfort of the Gold Coast.

BTW, rule 16 of the User Conduct section is ignored by the Mods.....I fail to see why rule 7 should be sacrosanct.

Fair enough Gomez...I've given my thoughts and you've given yours. I see your point and I hope you can see mine.

There's always grave dangers in opening up discussion about "ethics" on a forum such as this, as more than likely one will caught out by some previous posts ... for example, Trevor, you started the thread "Your name..." which others more sensitive may take as an infringement on their privacy.

Equally, I have banged on about not posting pictures with visible number plates, only to be flamed by some that have been a tad 'holier than thou' above

My personal opinion is that Anthony Casio was quite open about what he was after. He could quite easily have employed rather more devious tactics (aka a 'social exploit') to achieve his aim...("Anyone know how I can contact EZZY urgently, I have some great news for him?" -- I'm betting he would have had the information in a hearbeat, knowing some ).. Hats off to him for at least being honest, and while I am sure there's many of us that sympathise with his problem, personally I'm dubious about using these forums for that sort of thing.

Ultimately, while we can hope for ethical behaviour and good will to all posters....there's been enough anarchy in this place for me not to expect that will actually occur.

I agree with you completely, but with the following annotations.

1. Trev's thread gives people the choice to post their real name, it doesn't make them do it

2. Your registration number concerns are the same as mine. I don't particularly like my rego being broadcast to everyone, but the thing is I don't do anything wrong so if plod wants to pull me over, they're not going anywhere very fast! On another note if someone wants to vandalise my car, the guilt rests on their head not mine!

3. I would've done what you suggested (in realtion to the antonio cascio thing), but not everyone is as cunning as either of us.

4. Ethical behaviour in a forum situation is subject to interpretation. Some of us are bound by various regulations that are set by our professional association with different organisations. Then on the other hand, some of us aren't and don't understand the moral and legal obligation for people to uphold certain standards when dealing with everyone on a day to day basis.

End of the day, as you said this topic shouldn't be a discussion point ... it has the ability to flail out of control.

Hey Guys I'm going on my first ever Big Road Trip to Schoolies and I'm wondering what I should stock on for my '8? I'm thinking other than Fuel I should get some Rotary Oil, and some Coolant. Oh and if I get a Flat or Punctured Tyre I'm F*cked because I'm ditching my Spare Tyre to make room for more luggage. Its going to be a struggle to fit sleeping bags, (possibly) a tent, 3 Bags (one for each person in the car), small esky for drinks, etc etc.

Fuel will be a b*tch, I'll have to fill up between 4 to 5 times before I get to Surfers.

I could write a lot more about other factors including Dangerous Roads & Truckies, but I want to hear your stories of Road Trips.

Lordjay, if you get a hole in the sidewall you'll get a huge hole in your pocket.

The goo in the filler can ruin the tyre, so when you use it you will have to replace your tyre.

If you don't want to run the risk of being stranded because of a puncture and want to minimise the cost of a repair... carry the spare.

You can be as sure the day you don't carry the spare is the day you'll need it....and if you are 50 km from the nearest repair centre you're in trouble. But its your call.....

Its about 850 kms from Sydney to Surfers. Even if you allow for several red light stops at each major town you should still get 400 km per tank (approx)

Therefore, you should only need to fill up three times on the way up. At an average of $1.35 per litre, it should cost you about $80 bucks for a 58 litre fill = $240 one way and $480 for the trip. (excluding running around the Gold Coast)

Remember you have around 50 km when the fuel warning light comes on but I wouldn't push it much past that. Let us know how you go anyhow....
