Yeah, we used to get them in Springfield!!! I think it's a fact of life in SA, wherever you live, you're probably going to run into a king brown or two ... (or more)

Look whos talking Michael. You treat women as sexual objects, are they not creatures too that require respect?
Julia, theres snakes up at my dads property also. My mum had to kill 1 as it raised its head and was coming for her, she used a block of wood, she doesnt even realise how she managed it. They have seen a few more snakes since then but dont touch them. Theres heaps around the chicken pens (thats where they keen getting seen) they sun-bake amongst the chickens and they all seem happy together. The snakes eat the rats and mice I think, since there would be heaps around there due to all the chickens, so in the end the snakes stop the mice from eating the chickens eggs and the snakes are full enough to not touch the chickens. Mum and dad just walk around with massive boots and sticks, and make a lot of noise when walking it generally scares the snakes away or basically on really hot days parents will chose to not go nowhere near the chicken area lol

Yes Kall I employ the gumboot protection method on hot days. Walk with a stick when out in the paddocks and have a spade handy at every door. No use not being prepared!! They are a fact of life here but that's not to say I will get along with them, I only kill them if they threaten me or the dogs and if they don't then that's fine by me! NO chooks yet but am looking forward to getting some :-)

my building got strucked by lightning in the morning (9.05-ish), just before the big rain. Because of the lightning, we had power surge, 2 of the high rise lift went dead. lucky no one's trapped.

lol us Sydney folk don't get Cyclones either. Worst situation happened to me 2 weeks ago, twice! Hail falling down heavily as I drove on the M5, so I drive and park under an overpass (on the side of the road). 30 seconds later everyone copies me. And some old lady parks on the road and nearly gets taken out by a Semi-Trailor. Damn Grannies, lol.

Those of us with new for old car insurance policies wouldn't mind a decent hail storm, mwahahaha. Indeed, I'd put 'Er Indoors car away in the garage and park mine out in it if one hit near here.
The rain has arrived! Got in my pool for the first time this summer yesterday arvo and sure enough the good weather has disappeared again. Bugger!

I thought wrong
I have this patio./sunroom area which leads to backyard. I rarely use that exit as its easier for me to just go through garage. I took a peak today and my ceiling caved in lol heaps of water.. I already knew that area wasnt upto scratch it was leaking ages ago and it got "flushed" whatever that means but it was an original dodgey job so we were thinkin fixing that area altogether and before that could happen.. damn storms ![Frown](https://www.rx8club.com/images/smilies/frown.gif)
At least rest of house seems to be find, the garage has excellent drainage, my mum thought my garage would get flooded as it steeps downhill a bit but before the garage doors there are vents for the water to go down, phewwwww
now waitin for damn electrician to install my bedroom friggin lights!
oh and my granny is staying with my parents for xmas/new yrs, this should be interesting.. lol
