Hey!
Yes - RX8 still in one piece despite all my efforts to date - I'm still alive and well and almost done with xmas and nye break, back in the office on Jan 12th ( rats ).
Managed to stay off line and net free ( mostly ) for what has almost been four weeks of holiday break. Intending to get roughly another 18 hours of like "down time" till monday morning.
Planning to be back with a vengance next week, so load your browsers!
Regards to all - have missed the banter et al but there's no substitute for time out with my dear wift, hard case 2 year old daughter, good food, books, and some time catching low dosages of radiation surrounded by silicone in fine grane and saline infused fluids.
Looking forward to catching up with the old faces, and meeting some newbies in a day or so - I can feel an all nighter post fest coming on!
Oh, I've got a dual pack HBNG in the garrage Rob, we should do a DND and I'll get yours to ya.
++dez;
ps: Mark / Rob - got your PM's and emails, thanks for checking up on this little duck, indeed I was most honoured to hear from y'all !! Nice to know people care * smile *
pps: got a laugh from the code coma kev.. thats sure to come soon, I'm planning a month off around March to rewrite major chuncks of http://WebSearch.COM.AU before it's 10th year anniversary hits the press.

Anyone up for a trip to space... only a cool $20M.... from a travel agency newsletter:
You’ll be over the moon
Now is the time to be a space tourist. Space Adventures are actively seeking a candidate from Australia to participate in an Orbital flight. The next mission SA-1 will be in 2005 and costs a tidy sum of US$20 million.

" MILE HIGH CLUB "on a LAUDA AIR flight to Austria .
I must admit it did not last a hundred miles , but more like 5 minutes .
Cost :
A few drinks ,bit of grass (not the average garden type variety) and a few good jokes(.he he he)
Making out with a gorgeous Austrian flight attendant in the male loo at 3 am on the way to VIENNA thats the best a halve pissed overtired Aussie could do .
I am currently working on a springbrook mountain high adventure , if you want more details ask HYMEE. ha ha ha

Mark, yea - and yes it's been too long - turns out being at the top of the **** pile can cause you to end up with a pile of **** [ to deal with ]. What I had hoped would be a quick re-entry to the office has taken just over a week - endless partner meetings, business planning, sales and marketing strategy sessions, yadda yadda.. I'd give up the chair if I thought I could trust the board to not sail too far south..
Kev, yea - avatar change time appraoching..
And as for "was I orphaned at 17, causing me to turn into a single minded, revenge-driven space-dreg who's been hounded by an Imperial covert team sent to investigate the Company that killed my parents, causing me to become a young thug the street assets consider a "local asset."
No.
But to prove my validity as the one and only copy of the Dez in the box [ schrodingers cat ], I'm please to report that the sqrt(12) is still:
3.464101615137754587054892683011744733885610507620 761256111613958903
8660338176000741622923735144971513
if you're wondering why I remeber the sqrt of 12 to bizarre numbers [ average of 100 or so ] decimal points, thats a long story..
but if you take an average desk calculator and enter 3.464101615 and the press X ( times ) twice ( to multiply it by itself ) and hit = ( equals ) you should get 12, but 99.999% of cheap calculators will give you a classic software rounding error and reply 11.99999999 or thereabouse..
the inane trivial and generally useless information should beyound any doubt prove I'm "the" one [ and not that interloping wife of mine! by the way ].

L&L:
I think there's a perfect aussie colloquialism that sum's it up.. "I dont' **** about.." * grin *
as for you're sushi cat thing.. you're on your own there * laugh *
Kev:
one does what one can * smile * - I had to dig deep for that memory I can tell you now.
I've just finished a book called "Factoriing Humanity", a novel, well worth the read, a really neat mind bender near the last half - up there with Neuromancer et al - recomend you get it and read in one sitting.
As for Deathstalker - ah, Simon Green ( can never remeber his middle name ) - and fearless old Owen Deathstalker, a man who died to save the empire and humanity - what can you say to that!? nothing really.. retoric of course..
We have had an I AM IT vote, we should have an I AM BOOKWORM vote, i.e. (I read: a) spy novels, romance novels, sci-fi, et al )
Mark?
how do I start one 'o them votin thangs?
