Death & taxes -- inevitable! Still, it does hit you when you get a bit older and people you have known, young and vital, die suddenly and not from a drug overdose or accident.
Oops, embarrassing silence in The Lounge
Quick change of subject -- scrabbles for joke -- how about this:
HEADACHE
Joe was moderately successful in the career, but as he got older
he was increasingly hampered by incredible headaches. When his
personal hygiene and love life started to suffer, he sought
medical help. After being referred from one specialist to another,
he finally came across a doctor who solved the problem. "The good
news is I can cure your headaches. . ." "The bad news is that
it will require castration. You have a very rare condition which
causes your ********* to press up against the base of your spine.
The pressure creates one hell of a headache. The only way to
relieve the pressure is to remove the *********." Joe was shocked
and depressed. He wondered if he had anything to live for. He
couldn't concentrate long enough to answer, but decided he had no
choice but to go under the knife. When he left the hospital, his
mind was clear, but he felt like he was missing an important part
of himself. As he walked down the street, he realized that he felt
like a different person. He could make a new beginning and live a
new life. He walked past a men's clothing store and thought,
"That's what I need: a new suit." He entered the shop and told the
salesman,"I'd like a new suit." The salesman eyed him briefly and
said, "Let's see. . .size 44 long." Joe laughed, "That's right,
how did you know?" "It's my job." Joe tried on the suit. It fit
perfectly. As Joe admired himself in the mirror, the salesman
asked, "How about a new shirt?" Joe thought for a moment and then
said, "Sure . . ." The salesman eyed Joe and said, "Let's see. .
.34 sleeve and . . . 16 and a half neck." Joe was surprised,
"That's right, how did you know?" "It's my job." Joe tried on the
shirt, and it fit perfectly. As Joe adjusted the collar in
the mirror, the salesman asked, "How about new shoes?" Joe was
on a roll and said, "Sure . . ." The salesman eyed Joe's feet and
said, "Let's see...9 and a half wide." Joe was astonished,
"That's right, how did you know?" "It's my job." Joe tried on the
shoes and they fit perfectly. Joe walked comfortably around
the shop and the salesman asked, "How about a new hat?" Without
hesitating, Joe said, "Sure . . ." The salesman eyed Joe's head and
said, "Let's see. . .7 5/8." Joe was incredulous, "That's right,
how did you know?" "It's my job." The hat fit perfectly. Joe was
feeling great, when the salesman asked, "How about some new
underwear?" Joe thought for a second and said, "Sure . . " The
salesman stepped back, eyed Joe's waist and said, "Let's see...
size 36." Joe laughed, "No, I've worn size 34 since I was 18
years old." The salesman shook his head, "You can't wear a size
34. It would press your ********* up against the base of your
spine and give you one hell of a headache."

Hell - someone give me a cold drink! Fark it was hot today.
Have a look at the official BOM figures (below) for today.
It doesn't look easy to create a table here, but hopefully you can see it has been a hot day, without much breeze. Readings from 7:00am this morning (29.2) until 7:30pm (30.6) with a max. of 40.8 at 2:00. The ambient air temp. sensor went up to 44 in my car today.
Cheers,
Hymee.

The morning was warm, but a coastal breeze cooled it a bit - for those of us on the coast.
I have two lot's of sleeper overs tonight at our place ... 9 year old boys an 11 year old girls - things were never like this when I was a kid!!!

2 sleepovers ..... the Household of Kev is "STRESSVILLE, NSW"
If the noise and excitement gets you stressed I'd prescribe a quick trip to ... actually it don't matter where you go, coz going is the prescription to relieve the stress!!
We have a hangover of 10 y.o boys basballers still hanging around since the 10-30 game this morning ..call me a psychic but I can sense a sleepover in the making ... and the 13yo girl doesnt like it one bit!!

Sleepover?
Boys crashed in a tent in the back garden by 1:30am
Girls still watching movies and playing guitar (badly) at 3:30am
I cycled ~100k today and I'm certain I was asleep for half of it!

OK, I'll bite - what's in a dark and stormy?

I'm a Queenslander who can spell BEER, so no XXXX for me... but thanks for the offer. Stella, Corona, Boags sound good to me. Did my dash on Bundaberg Rum as a teenager... so no D&S's or Bundy and coke for me.
Storm just passed through, wiped out the heat, but now we have humidity. Note to self - Self, retire to Hobart. Mt Wellington got 2 degrees minimum the other day. Some nice roads for the '8 too. Will be well and truly a collectors item by then.. .and probably had a hydrogen conversion.

That's what not having your car yet does to you -- too much time searching the web trying to solve trivia quizs. Hymee, hand the man a banana :D
