As I already had my car booked in today for various things, I rang and asked for the recall changes to be done at the same time, which my dealer said would happen "if they received the parts".
Well, dear readers, of course they didn't receive the parts

Well thats as maybe, but if you take a look at the US "RECALL" then it reads just like the "Damper Heat Shield" SSP - same start date but longer range to Jan04 and similar starting VINs, only it is safety related so it is a mandatory recall under US Federal Motor Vehical Safety Standard - "the front Passenger airbag is improperly wired and will not provide adequate protection in the event of a crash" (read "it does not work!").
Mazda US are doing a recall to replace the airbag wiring harness. So it will be interesting to see if MA do a "Safety Recall" here. I too will ask when I have my damper mod done on Tuesday.
Cheers,
Tonym.

I was told around 2 hours. If you look at the US Service Bulletin you will understand, see: http://www.finishlineperformance.com...er_recall.html

mine is booked for tuesday. I'll ask them to have a look at the squeaky drivers seat and the creaking wheel when cold and cornering. anyone who's had these fixed can you let me know what they did to rectify? cheers Ray.

Mine took about two hours at Grand Prix Mazda Aspley, including the wash and detailing (free). About half the time was spent in letting the catalytic converter cool down so they could work in its vicinity. My heat shield was OK, but they replaced it. They service guy said the new one is larger and with heavier reinforcing.

Mine got done at my 20,000 service at Grand Prix Mazda, Aspley.
No problems. Took the car from there to home that night, and all the way to Goulburn the next day. Never missed a beat the whole trip there and back. (Except for the odd occasion during extremely spirited driving while the fuel light was on, but that is my fault, not the cars!)
Cheers,
Hymee.
