MazdaSpeed Front Tower Brace/Strut

Query for the gurus.

I ordered front and rear MazdaSpeed tower braces from onlinemazdaparts.com. Unfortunately, the front bar will only fit LHD models (fortunately, omp.com are good blokes and have offered me a full refund, for which I'm very grateful).

So, plan B was to order a replacement front brace from japanparts.com but I noticed that the item in their catalogue is a four point brace whereas the one from the States was a two point brace and looked quite different otherwise (e.g. carbon bar). Comparison pics below.

Anyone know more about this? Which is the better unit? Is the two point brace even available for RHD? All info welcome.

The 4 points will lose the cover. But it will give more support. The extension to the master cyclinder is a bonus.

Thanks Taka. That's what I figured. I don't mind losing the cover. The carbon(look?) bar looks sexier though...

What do you mean by the master cylinder extension being a bonus??

The simple fact Mazda have gone with a 4 point in the SII makes me not even think about a 2 point. And I thought both of the came with MC brace?

i know with the autoexe 4 point brace you can fit the engine cover, just needs a lil trimming
master cylinder extension is a bonus as it helps stop a 'fading pedal' by supporting the cylinder, but prob only noticable when tracking the car
i also knwo that drew has a cusco front brace with the master cylinder extension (RHD) and in carbon fibre (only 2 point though), might want to look at that option?

Thanks guys.

I'm leaning towards ordering the four point brace but other views welcome...

The US model does not have an extension and has been a complain from the US guys; not sure though a ver. 2 has been made.

I think the firewall and master cylinder extension are real bonuses, worth having it even means losing the cover

That so call "carbon" look a like is not dry carbon .. so only riced up carbon look alike and is offer through USA Mazdaspeed, the 4 point one that Taka has is "original" Japan Mazdaspeed..

USA Mazdaspeed offered a few parts that they made or OEM from other factory.. such as this front struct.. and the exhaust.. i think is to accomodate their market.. as earlier post pointed out.. the master cylinder brace stopper is for right hand drive.. also i think they want a louder exhaust then the one offered by Japan Mazdaspeed.. their rear struct offer in USA is Japanese..

Thanks for the info. I ordered the four point JDM unit yesterday. Significantly more expensive than the yank version but for the reasons you guys point out, I think it's worth it.

Won't be here in time for Sunday's track day but them's the breaks. It'll be on the car before the Nats though...

Stop talking about the four point one.I want one now and am sick of hearing about things I have to have! The master cylinder part sounds good!

I do want one although I have a cusco 2 point one at the moment but to be honest,I just got it when I was in Japan,it was cheap, and looks better than stock one.I can't see how it can be an improvement over the stock one unless the stock one flexes which I doubt?? The four point one I can see making an improvement..
