Mods and predictions for 06'
I decided that this forum was getting a little bogged down, we need some new threads!
So I thought it might be interesting to see what people have on their mod shopping list for 06'. Then later in the year we'll bump this thread and take stock (or what's not stock in fact) and see how everyone's progressing and what side alleys (Rev/Ezzy) people have been up.
I myself am going to start 06' with a car! I'm going throught the internal debate of a low mileage leather 04' or a longer in the tooth 03' pov pack.(so i have no wories about a non existent warranty and more cash to bolt on)
I have the bits off the old beast and I'm particularly keen on some new wheels. I'm also going to bolt in a Nav system and I am wondering about a carputer / touch screen with added scananlyser. Would appreciate useful opinions.
And I'd also like any info if anyone has upspecced their audio, cause I'd miss the subbie etc if I went Pov. (oh and Chris's damn MS kit is sorely tempting, must check out the carmate pack)
So who's going to launch in with their wish list for 06????

I'm well advanced with new wheels (see thread).
Otherwise I'm not planning anything this year. I'm happy with a street directory and don't think my driving needs a scanalyser or anything like that.
I like the MS bodykit too but they want too much for it.
If $$ are good and Hymee's S/C kit is released before Christmas I'll think hard about it though (if only to get Adrian off my back with those weird Hal instructions).

I was hoping an SP model may have been out this year, so since an upgrade is out of the question, Mr Hymee may be gatting a call later this year.

I like her avatar and her attitude - sounds like a cool chick. Races Alfa's or somethin' and calls her bloke "the War Dept".

Well I am in the throws of doing a proper seat and removeable harness for the track (who came up with the stupid idea of putting leather seats in a convertibe - 3rd degree bloody burns on my bum).
Then a Cold air Intake, catback and then Extractors. Might also do a bigger throttle body at the same time as the intake. Just spending a little of the money I was given back
Ohh... also getting a set of semi slicks in the next few months for trackdays and very very tempted for some H&R coilovers but going to put that money on the morgage instead
Although this MX5 is a new model the parts coming out for it are just so much cheaper than for my 8

This is the official Mazda Mazdaspeed roadster that will appear in a couple years. A higher performance version of the 5 rumoured to run the 2.3 that is in the up coming MPS Mazda 3 (detuned from the MPS 6).
Ohh God I want that bodykit. I did price the mazdaspeed bodykit that is available now and still looks great but all up $4000 US plus $1700 US shipping

Brian Goodwin from Goodwin Racing posted a picture on his site ot their new MX5 with the wheels from his rx8 bolted on. Way to big, but did look comical

A kit that good looking will hopefully get knocked off here once the new MX5 becomes more popular. Then I'll look at getting that. The original kit will never be what I term affordable but a good replica... Yes.
Don't you just love those wheels. Like the wheels off a Ferrari.

Good thread!
I was debating whether to get the Hymee exhaust, and grill kit... Lowered ..and maybe some new wheels...really like the enkei's too!...also want a supercharger..but who doesn't!
I'd love to get a new MX5 ...i think they look just great and are getting really good writeups! ...Now to find the $45000..!

The writeups are not that much better than what the 8 got when it first came out. Now forget the MX5 and get the Hymee exhaust with some nice lowering and Enkei's... Sweet

Can anyone recommend what the best way to go about lowering the 8 would be..?
Just new springs.?... or the whole 9 yards...coilovers etc...?
I won't be doing much trackwork ...maybe just a day here or there...
