1968 Cosmo 110S. Beautiful

787B! Respect! FIA banned rotaries at Le Mans the year after it won and it's only recently they changed the rules to let them back in again. Would love to see something like the Furai taking those Euro oilers on.

and you've just got to love a car company that made the Bongo van.

Just to make a slight correction; FIA didn't take any action due to the victory of the 787B but had plans years in advance to alter their 'formula' that prompted urgency on the part of Mazda to put all their cards down since their opportunity was limited. It was a gamble that went rather well I might add and I believe for less than 20 Million US whereas a lot of teams have been known to spend upward of 100m US.

Paul.

Yes but my version of events is more interesting.

Nothing like a siege mentality.

Seriously, thanks for the info. I guess like many things it gets twisted around as the years pass to suit the teller's agenda...

Sorry to drag an old thread out from the archives. I liked the pics of the RE-Amemiya garage, I live within a 5 minute walk of the shop in Tomisato. Have been here for 5 years now and open up my ranch sliding door (when it's not freezing cold) on weekends and can hear them with the cars on the dyno in the small shed next to the main workshop. Great place to live for sure!
