Motec ecu for RX8
E-mailed Motec regarding availibility of a plug and play unit for the RX8 . :D
Hello Michael,
Thank you for your enquiry regarding a MoTeC engine management system for your Mazda RX8. We do not currently have a plug and play ECU available for this car although we do have one under development. The M800 is best suited to the RX8.
We supply and support the MoTeC range of products through a worldwide network of dealers able to install, adjust and provide ongoing customer support for each product. While users can adjust their MoTeC product functionality after installation, we recommend that all MoTeC products be fitted and initially adjusted by someone with appropriate MoTeC experience.
A listing of dealers can be found on our website at www.motec.com.au, or if you advise me of your location, I can suggest a dealer nearby.
If you have any further questions, do not hesitate to contact us.
Regards,
Ross Buckingham

I've got the M800 and M4 brochures sitting here in front of me, they are a trick bit of kit no doubt about it. There is a new M600 that is probably cheaper and will drive a three rotor with dual wideband oh two sensors. You can download software to suit their ECU's off the Motec website. The latest M800 software was released this month, so the Motec team certainly keep on top with the latest and greatest.

So... the Grand Am RX-8s are using M800 for their EMS! I read on Speed magazine that the Gran Am RX-8 racers run stock engine, modified intake and exhaust, and Motec Engine Management. Has someone ever tried doing this to their RX-8? I know it's popular among RX-7s too. Any former Rx-7s out there who can lend some help in getting this done to the RX-8?

Gomez do you reckon one should go to GR motorsport or SelectMaz at Epping?
I will take a day off for tuning for sure :p.
Tell me what you think.
EDIT: Was Hymee looking for a MoTec before? Why is he going back to use the TSI again... for his Hymee blower!?
There MUST BE something he knows and we don't

I know a little of Hymee's plans, but I do not wish to reveal any info that may cause him to put me in his bad books. I hope he is currently working full time on the MkII grille kits
