My New Shitta

Hi,
just got my new RX8 Friday, the 40th anniversary one? lots of options and long as you didn't want a choice
Serious this is my first rotary, had some fast cars in the past. Out of the box this shitta is the best handling car I have ever driven on the road, did all rx8's come with this suspension setup, or this 40th anniversary have the Bilstein only?

the 40th anniversary has the bilstein, the previous ones don't. Not sure about the new series coming out, they might have bilstein fitted.

Well done on the purchase!

If this is your 1st rotary. Follow a few basic steps to ensure it loves you back.........

1. ALWAYS warm the engine when cold in the morning/evening. Wife & I allow 3-5 minutes mostly.

2. ALWAYS change the oil within the 5000 - 10,000km bracket. Check the oil often (every forntnight?) & top up when required

3. If you putt around in traffic a lot, give it a thrashing every now & then to "clean it out'. Dont be scared, you wont hurt it.

4. Read plenty on this forum. You can learn more about your car in the next 4-weeks than you could in 4-years of ownership.

WRT the Bilsteins. A mate has a 40th ANN version & it feels significantly sharper on the road compared to mine. Some of the extra options look pretty sharp too.

Thanks for the welcome,
yes I can learn a lot about the car talking with others, keen to see how well the shitta handles on the track if the past 2 days are anything to go by, should be fun
yes odd, I call my car a shitta, but my old subbie had the same name & that was Ken fast a real sleeper but was not a car that liked corners like the rx8
looks like i will signup for lakeside this week
