Nationals - Cruise down to Wakefield for NSW and QLD entrants
As in previous years, I suggest we meet up at the rest area south of Sydney and drive down together late Friday arvo. Qlders can meet us there if it works out with their plans.
If anyone's interested in that, let me know in here and I'll post the details.
EDIT - ok, here's the details if anyone wants some company:
When: 4.30 for 4.45 departure. If you're running a touch late and you want us to wait for you, call me on my mobile number (see event guide). Within reason, we'll wait a little while for stragglers.
Where: Frank Partridge VC Rest Area, 36.4kms south of the M5 Toll Plaza (in other words, as you're going through the toll booths on the M5, hit your trip meter and when 36 is coming up look for an exit sign to the rest area - it's hard to miss). I think the GPS coordinates are S34°09.423' E150°44.340' if you want to play.
Why: Most of the repeat offenders know where it is and it's en route for just about everybody from NSW and QLD. The interstaters from QLD don't have to leave any main roads to find it. It's got plenty of room, decent toilets and provides an easy place to wait as the clan gathers.

I may be able to join in just depends on what time you depart the meeting point.. I would like to get a wheel alignment done before heading to to Golburn. Does anyone know a good shop in the Liverpool area.

I won't be speeding Matt - it'll just be an orderly cruise down to WPR at the limit with a pitstop to refuel just north of Goulburn at the BP.
Ok, I'll look into the details re: time and place but work on the basis that it'll be about 4pm kickoff.

Planning to get away from work around that time so hopefully will be able to tag on the convoy.
Matt, I know you are fast around Wakefield but 12.9 seconds is stretching it a bit
Cheers

Do you mean stretching the truth?? Remembering that I will be at the nationals trying to beat that time if not replicate it. Or you could ask Len who will also be there who was the one who recorded the time for me..

Not 12.9 as his post says........
So let's see if he gets under 12.9 SECONDS at the Nats......
Cheers

Oh I see..Ha ha. Well spotted. That has been there for months, shows how many people take notice of my signature! While I would like to improve on my time I agree that taking a minute off it will be more than difficult!

I've been in my car with Rod driving down there and I was NERVOUS! Both for myself and the car. I think Rod could easily do a low 1.11 or better no problems.. Anyway this isn't the thread for these discussions.

Phew - thank you Len - I can spot the 10 cents in the middle of the road but never see the Bus coming................ Matt I am sure you will be changing it again in a couple of weeks...
Back to topic - I hope meet up is no earlier than 4.00pm as I have a couple of deadlines at work that day and I think would be pushing it to meet up before then......
Cheers

Ok guys, I have edited the first post in this thread with the details.
Please give me an indication of whether or not you intend to join us, so we know when most have arrived.
Plan is to leave no later than 5, so try to get there on time please. If you're running too late, you'll still find WPR easy enough if you follow the directions in the event guide.
We'll refuel at the big BP at Marulan, which is about 20-30 kms north of Goulburn (it just saves having to go into one of the smaller servo's in Goulburn). The BP is just near the big truck checking station, so if you're playing catch up, you might find us there.
As stated earlier, this is just to get there - not an excuse to hoon around. The highway around Goulburn is heavily policed (especially in ski season), so save your speed for the track.

Great but please try to get there before 5pm, because I want to be leaving the place then, not still waiting for people.
I'll update the first post with participants...

Just a note of caution about ensuring plenty of time to make that meeting point. There's continual roadwork on the F5 at Campbelltown, which can really slow the flow at peak times sourhbound, and Friday afternoon is one of the heaviest times. As someone who has been "caught", I urge you to allow plenty of timeand check the RTA for traffic conditions.
....or perhaps Drewman could organise an escort

Good point Timbo. If traffic is just too savage, just make your own way there...
MACCAA, noted.
Matt, sorry to hear that.

Just a reminder guys, we'll be leaving at 5pm at the latest, so if the Fri arvo traffic delays you, just make your own way there.
Don't wait after 5 for me if I get held up either...
