NATS: The results
For those who weren't in attendance, here's the official results of the weekend. All times will be available on a linked site later today.
The Rotor Master Positive Displacement Prize for Positive Performance and Positive Attitude -- basically, the player of the match prize. This comprised a chromed and engraved rotor clock, donated by Joe Signorelli -- the Rotor Master

Rod came to the Nats as an entrant, was drafted as an instructor, which he did willingly and enthusiatically, and also managed to go out and nail some low 1:14 laps (including a best of 1:14.13) in a stock RX-8 on street tyres. How good is that!?
Class A - novice drivers in stock cars
Choppy (including a best of 1:16.78 )
Tim Tam (1:17.37)
Class B - experienced drivers in stock cars
cronullarx8 (as noted)
MACCAA (1:15.81)
Class C - experienced drivers in modified cars
takahashi (1:14.86)
rot8 (1:14.92)
Well done, guys!

The first set of times are up at the following link. More details will be available tomorrow, and I will edit this thread at that time.
CORRECTION
Just need to correct a missprint on the linked site.
The second fastest car on the track, and fastest RX-8 on the day was the Rotor Master SP RX8, which ran an excellent 1:13.0190.. As that car had just been completed prior to the event, I'd reckon there's lots more to come from that car. Great work, Joe!![Wiggle](https://www.rx8club.com/images/smilies/wiggle.gif)
UPDATE: The detailed lap time results are now up and can be found here

No...it was purely that times were recorded...and we needed an objective measure to allocate certain awards
And, of course, everyone knows that if you are racing at Wakefield, you'd be doing sub 1:10s
...and driving a highly modified 8

Is it possible to put these times into some sort of perspective for me? Say, in the hands of equally competent drivers, what sorts of times could be expected for a 350Z or a Boxter in stock trim? Faster, slower or about the same?

I guess I answered my own question when I went to the BBC Top Gear website. They have a list of power laps, and the RX-8 scored the same time as a BMW M3, 350Z and BMW 535d. Not too bad.

Let's hear it for Triple G, King of the B1's
(bloody foxy bugger was a second ahead of me all day, no matter what I did!)
And idolo, something tells me you were catching me in that last session!
But I'm still stoked with my result!

I think our kids ran around the playground chasing each other faster than we did in our cars around the track!!!!
