I think it is very slick. - too bad I have something there already.

BTW they are genuine Mazda product from Mazda Japan.

Very nice - certainly is an option for Navi craved you - since you can tuck it away, when you park in places you don't want people to see the navi.

I think you can put a DVD screen too.

cool

I've seen one in the flesh on an 8 o/seas.. personally, I didnt really like the way it looked but i think they're an ok alternative to the popup screen if thats hard to find (or too exxy).

wow~
it is a really hot stuff~thx for the information TAKA~
does this one automatically open and close, TAKA?

i think the price is really good~coz i've been ask around the other after market one was originally made for mazda 3, but can modify and fit on RX8, looks similar to this one (of course this one looks better)~and the screen is automatically open and close.
but it costs about 1k.

I don't think it is automatic Brian.

Personally yes, I don't think it worth $400 unless it is carbon fiber

Interesting but I prefer something that folds up with the screen attached. When the car is out of warranty then I'll consider modding my dash (providing I decide to keep the 8.... Copping flak about the 8 not being a very comfortable family car). wife, kid, 2 dogs.

If budget allows, why not pick up a second-hander for family duties. $5-10K buys a pretty decent car in the current second-hand market.
