well I haven't picked mine up yet probably two weeks off I'm suprised at some of the posts on here about there not being alot of Rx8's around; there's already about 7 sold in my town alone!
after finding this forum I'm a bit dissapointed in mazda .au
I'm jelous of the options the americans get! like the sunroof and navigation.
another thing I'll have a whinge about is the cost trade-offs mazda made in the rx-8 to keep cost down. like no alloy in the rear suspension arms, twin spot (cast iron?) calipers when they have 4 spot alloy calipers in the parts bin.
it's still a great car but I'll be annoyed in a few years when they come standard with the navigation, sunroof and the 4 spots; good excuse to trade it in on a new one

Welcome aboard "Envy"
If you are tall like me you won't miss the sunroof. I have driven a US Spec car (rxeighter's), and I only just squeezed in.
I'm not sure about the need for the rear suspension arms being ally, but the hub castings are.
I think the brake package is good. It is whether it pulls up well, and repeatably without fade that is important. And it seems to excel in this aspect without having to resort to 4 or 6 spotters.
Anyway - enjoy this place!
BTW - Which QLD town are we talking about?
Cheers,
Hymee.

Yeah your right; spec's mean little if they don't make a noticable change. I was just dreaming of a FD RX7 before I settled on a RX8.
As you say sun-roofs arn't practical when your 6'4" but I reckon the rx-8 would work as I could live with the Rx7's and I decided not to go that way as I don't fit (I couldn't turn the steering wheel)
the local Toowoomba dealer reckons they have shifted that many. they have had 3 on the yard that are always visible but they get others in and hide them out the back if they have been ordered. they have sold a silver, and 2 red, that I know of and have seen driving round and now my blue one, and I guess there could be another 3 that I haven't come across yet.
