Cool web design. Love the way the rotor spins as you scroll down the options.

Still not sold on the new front end though - still looks too busy to me and hate the plastic snout. Need to see one in the metal...

Anyway, It would be good to see some paint and Interior colours on this site..?

It looks like there are only 2 Interior trim colours...Black or Red?

Exterior...
If we get the same Colour Palette as the US..
its 2 blacks, VR Red, 2 Silvers and a white!..

Oh and the Aurora Blue (only available on their GT R3 Model)

I would have thought Mazda would have gone with a few new STANDOUT Colours...like True Red, Even a Yellow..
I don't know but most are dark looking.
Or been around for years (VR), Brilliant Black.

I will probably go with the Luxury in VR or Aurora Blue if it is available.

According to page 21 of the latest Motor, the new model will have:

1. lighter flywheel and rotors.

2. revised engine oil delivery system.

3. more power (undisclosed).

GT model will be:

4. 40kgs lighter.

5. 0.2 secs faster to 100km/h.

All 3 models (entry, GT and Luxury) will fall below the $57,123 luxury car tax threshold.

(EDIT - sorry guys, I originally said Wheels - I meant Motor).

I'm pretty sure they are quoting 170kw's but a different final drive ratio for quicker low down acceleration and a lighter car..

I think this is the case too, which is why I was surprised to see that article. PR spin or poor journalism perhaps (it is Motor afterall and we do know that if it's not an Aussie V8 they're not really interested).

Can't wait to see the actual 0-100 figures rather than the factory quote. On another issue,I wonder if the lighter cloth pack rx8's (the current ones) are any quicker 0-100 than the leather packs the mags test and are 30 or 40kgs heavier?

In the early days they did knock off a few RX8 , Until they drove them and realized that they were slow

Mazda has done too little too late imho for a previous RX8 owner too really consider upgrading + the front end needs a nose job

Cheers
Michael

Oh, I shouldn't laugh but I can't help it. Opened the new Wheels to see a double page ad for the new RX8 GT with it....wait for it...snorting steam from its nostrils!

What were the marketing guys on when they approved that little flight of fantasy?

Less kind owners of the current car might wonder if its steam or smoke!

Yeah, thanks Dave.
I have been looking around over the past month, page 21, I looked at my June Wheels issue, ..not there...MMmmm, perhaps he has a later July issue, got mine this week...MMmmm, not their either... good thing I looked here today.

Motor as a mag amuses me, they are owned by the same mob as WHEELS, but in many tests or reviews have a completely different slant or like/dislike on the car.
Its almost as if 'they' conspire to make this so.

They definitely work hard to differentiate themselves to appeal to different demographics. I find both serve a purpose although the bogan undergrad humour in Motor gets a bit tiresome at times and some of their scribblers are prats.
