they only got my business in the exhaust side.... a few times too. the main dude (exhaust) is a top bloke, but their wheels/tyres business side needs alot room for improvement. i ususally go there for the selections/browsing, thats all.
like what kall said, just go with whoever you are feeling most comfortable! you can not compare with the deals taka and stu got, they were the show specials (usually 10% to 15% less off the RRP) and depending on their stock level. just like every other industry/ies, "connections" goes a long way....
so when is the big day?

As for when I get them, gotta find a buyer for my OEM wheels first.

Many of you have patiently allowed me to workshop the whole new wheel dilemma and have offered some great advice (big thanks to Eric here).
I'm chronically lazy with photos but courtesy of Tom (the photo dude) here's proof I finally got the Enkei's (photo is from our cruise to Wollongong on Sunday - here my car is being driven by 'Thing'
out of the Woronora Dam carpark).
Edit - Bugger - is just too big to fit. I'll post a link.
Check out photo 215 (gallery 11 of 16) here - http://urbanvideos.net/mazpics/galle...m/index10.html

Going briefly off topic, noticed that your RX8 logo badge (Right hand side) has been stuck on lower than the Mazda badge (left hand side) is this from factory or have you had a defect and had it glued on again.
Noticed it whilst in Robby_Jai's car on sunday cruise.

I CANNOT believe it. Curbed my front left last night. Not even a damn month old.
Was driving tired to an evening coaching session. Had to get to one of those new estates with all the traffic calming devices. Just clipped the side of one. My error of course but it was reasonably narrow. I think the whole suburb heard my reaction.
Hmmm, think I just got myself a full-size spare.
Somebody shoot me.

Thanks for the tea and sympathy guys
- not enjoying the best work day either.
No huge chunks out of it - like a graze that goes about a third of the way around the outer rim. As I said, I just clipped it rather than hit it hard.
Having slept on it, I've decided to buy an el cheapo 235/40R18, fit it to the scratched rim for use as a spare and buy a new rim. Knew I should have bought 5!

Dont want to burst ur bubble dave, but do you really need to replace it already? does it look THAT bad ?? all 4 my new rims have scrapes on them already. Its almost impossible to keep a car in 110% perfect condition, near-perfect is a possibility.
i wouldnt sweat on it dave, its not like people going to walk around ur car and look for little nips here and there and say OMG LOOK AT THAT TINYYYYY SCRATCH lol. you worry too much mate.

Made some enquiries with Australia's Best Tyre Service (where I bought them) as to replacement cost of the rim ($595) and he has recommended me to a good rim repairer. From my description he thinks it can be repaired for $100ish so I'll see if that works. Must say I was impressed with his concern and willingness to offer me a cheaper alternative - would have been easy just to flog a new rim and bank the proceeds. Must be new to Sydney.

I'll try to take some before and after shots if the repair works out so the uneducated (like me) can see what is achievable.

Well thats good to hear, I have to say, wait a few weeks and I think the importance of it will die down. I know its frustrating but really, unless you are showing it, 99% of poeple wont notice. As Kalli said, its near on impossible to keep a car looking perfect without wrapping it in bubble wrap.
That being said, for $100 bucks I rekon you will get it to the point where you will barely notice it unless you are looking for it. But then again, if you wait a few more week, you may have a few more scrathes that he can do at the same time for the same $100 :-D

For $100ish I reckon it's worth not having to look at the scratches because I don't really care if other people don't notice - I do.

Yes, they're painted.
Will give it a go as soon as I can get a window of time when I don't need the car (they will need the rim for 2-3 days and I don't want to drive it on the spacesaver - the embarassment alone would be bad enough
).
Times like these a full-size spare would come in handy.

Yep, sold the OEM's a few days after I picked up the Enkei's.
It's cool - don't drive it much during the week anyways. Can just take the rim off, put the spacesaver on to run it back into the garage and take the rim in the family truckster to the repair place.
