Tell me about it Eric - I'm still pissed off with myself for being so stupido!

Haven't had a chance to drop it in yet. Been busy with work and househunting and the car had to go into Crookie today to have the engine mounts replaced. Will try to get it done over the next week or so and report results.

Dave,
How easy was it to flog off your standard wheels? Is there much of a demand for them? I'm thinking of perhaps following your lead, and getting some flashy mags, if I can get a few $ for the standards.

There's not a whole lot of demand from within the RX8 community - I thought I'd find someone looking for a spare set of track rims but I think those seriously tracking their cars are still in the small minority.

I took some advice from Eric and got him to post a copy of my ad into the forum where the Mazda 3 and 6 owners hang out (sorry, can't remember which one it was now). A 3 owner snapped mine up pretty quickly for a fair price given the cosmetic damage.

In hindsight, I probably should have got the wheels repaired and maybe asked a bit more for them but the differential would probably have only been a few hundred dollars after factoring in the cost of repair.

Thanks for that guys. I'm not really into BBS', I want something a bit more aggressive looking, like Ezzy's wheels perhaps (or Kunz).
Hopefully I'll be able to offload the stockers without problems, sounds promising.

Tim, given you're one of the minority who seems to want to track the car regularly, why would you not keep your stock rims for slicks? If it's budget, say no more but I think you'd really appreciate the difference given you're already one of the quicker drivers on OEM rubber.

Just remember that if you go for the bigger bling rims you'll add weight and probably hurt your track performance. Guess it depends what you're after in terms of looks vs function.

Keep us posted with what you decide to do.

lol - I still haven't got that scuff fixed!!!

Keep meaning to do it but I'm too lazy to pull it off and put the space saver spare on while it's getting fixed.

I'll do it soon.

Mate, I don't have time to rip the rim off and put the spacey on, let alone frig around with DIY jobs.

I adhere firmly to the adage that tradesmen deserve your support.

A frustrated home handyman I'm not...
