New Year Eve Party/Fundraiser - Melbourne

Hi Guys

As most of you will know, my son passed away nearly 10 years ago after heart surgery at the Royal Childrens Hospital.

This New Years Eve we are arranging a fundraising dinner at The Sofitel in Melbourne to raise funds for the Intensive Care Unit. The function is registered with Consumer Affairs and will be conducted in conjunction with the hospital.

Cost is $130 pp and $30 for kids for a 3 course meal, drinks and entertainment.

The more people that attend the more money that we will raise. We have kept the cost down so that it is affordable for families to attend, without the hassle of finding babysitters.

If you would like more info, please PM me.

Cheers

Greg

I will certainly check.

Being the employee of the RCH this year, I have to do something. The only trouble is if the lil Taka comes late than it will be too troublesome to bring along and mum will not be able to take care very young child.

Will check with the little one first - when are you coming out?

I'll check too Greg - great cause.
My eldest son had open heart surgery at the RCH when he was a baby.

Cheers,
Rod.

Depends on flights (and something else in the works), but the Finance Director and I are interested too.. Will Miss 7 be welcome or is it just an adults only affair?

Miss 7 is most welcome, provided she chases my boys around like she did last year at the Nats. Or was it my boys chasing her around?

We have deliberatly kept the cost down to encourage families to attend.

It will be great to see you here if you can make it.

Cheers

Hi Guys

I have attached details and booking form for the function on New Years Eve. It will be great to see some fellow rx8ers there.

If you have already shown an interest in attending, I will pm you the forms.

If you can't make it, there is provision on the booking form to donate some of your hard earned cash to a great cause.

For those people that are attending and would like to spend the night in town, we have arranged discounted accomodation at the Mercure, which is just around the corner from The Sofitel. PM me and I will provide the details.

Cheers

Greg

We will be there... Miss 7 is already packed and real keen to catch up with the boys.. Do we want to do a RX-8 Owners table? Obviously Greg will be unable to join us at the table.. Who else is coming to this event?

Hi Guys

If anyone is looking for something to do on New Years Eve, we still have space available at the dinner.

All profits will be going to a good cause.

Cheers

We have arrived in the big smoke (actually we got here at 11:15 - been shopping since).. Picked up a huge dog from David Jones - I really have no idea how this is going to fit into the car! The roads are much better in Victoria, but the e-toll beeps every 100m or so

See you guys tonight - we are camped just around the corner from the venue.... (Poor old Storm is in a drafty garage... )

I should also mention that I have seen millions of Mazda 6 while we have been pottering across Victoria, but no RX-8s... Are you guys all hiding???

Hey Guys

It turned out to be a fantastic night. As well as everyone having a great time, we raised around $15000 for the hospital. I will post the final amount once it is all tallied up.

Thanks for your support.

Cheers
