I'd still say the difference would be negligible, especially if you check your tyre pressures every month or so like most of us would.
Anyway, it's good you're happy with the new tyres. Keep us updated as to how they go in 20000km though ... it'd be interesting to see how they fare once they've been run in a bit.

I have my opinion on nitrogen and it;s a negative one.....unless they suck ALL the air out of the tyre and create negative pressure and then add the nitrogen you are not getting what they charge you for......what happens if you get a flat? Do you have to top up with nitro or air???
On the tyre side I have gone with a Kuhmo tyre.....for $220 it does it for me.... seeing as I will be selling the car in a month or two they will do the job nicely I think! Not sure which Kuhmo it is but hey..I am promised they are quiet, not blocky looking, are rated for the 8 and they will keep the rims off the road and that's what matters to me :-)
By the way we had a debate today at work....a real one....competition one....I came second cause I forgot to acknowledge the adjudicator!!!! Was very funny!!!!

Even if you think the judge is an idiot (and unfortunately some of them are), always make him/her feel they are the most important person in the room.

A report update with my MAXX's. Like mdr's they are super quiet, and hang on in the wet like nothing else.
They don't corner as well as my Bridgestones. So we have gain in quality in one area but a loss in another.
If the budget allowed for it I would have probably gone the following (and in order)....
1. Bridgestone Adrenalin
2. Michelin PS2
3. Toyos
But I have considered all of the circumstances, and as 90% of my driving is in a straight line or city drving the MAXX's would have to win out because of their quietness and unbeatable price.....

The vast majority of my driving is corners on roads that range from good to poor quality. I am used to only getting a year out of a set of tyres.
I never push the car hard enough to hurt it in the dry. Wet weather performance and a quiet ride would be good. My local tyre store is talking around $400 each without much detail. I have about a month to decide.

Hard for me to say to compare to anything else, cause when I bought the car the OEMs on it where cupped on the inside and sounded like a freight train, so I never pushed those around a corner.
These seem to hold good to me. I take a pretty twisting tight corner road that is in not so good a shape up the side of a mountain for a fun drive every so often and I push it pretty hard around that and it never loses traction or breaks on me.
Until I get it on a track sometime and really push to the limit I will not for sure but for everyday driving the answer is they hold very well.

Andrew they are running on nitrogen @ 38 psi. It sounds right to me but I'll get the pressure checked again tomorrow.

Everyone has their own opinion on tyres...thats why this topic seems to generate the most discussion.
When I say they are quiet, I mean very quiet. I have a much smoother ride, and the price...can't beat it at $796 ($199 each)
Compared to my other options starting at $320 a corner, I saved a whopping $414.00.
I was quoted $1,800 for the OEMs which would have required another $1,004!
If you want to save yourself $$$ get the MAXXIS or CORSAS and you'll still get a great ride. At the end of the day it comes down to personal choice.....and of course your budget.

Glenn, for those tyres I believe its about normal price. But they are a pretty top end tyre.
enforcer, check the specs of the tyre, maybe they will ride (or support) better at 40psi.
mdr, I look forward to hearing about them but I suspect they will be like the nankangs...

But its my belief that nitrogen, like any gas has a constant volume, and like air will increase in pressure when heated. Brisbane was hotter today than usual, and now I think about it the tyres would have been pretty hot.
I hope you can correct me if I'm wrong Andrew, but I don't think I can challenge them...
