yeh dunno if zoomby's cd was @#@ed or twas his batteries.. eitherway hope he invests in a CB which isnt a toy this time :P

There are some nifty 1.5watt jobs that are about the same price as Jaycar's single units.
Could buy a pair and split. (you can pick up in car chargers for $5)

Yup, would definitely recommend the 1.5watt one - infact, thats the max i think you can get for a legal handheld (unless you're keen on frying your brain).
I have the Uniden 1.5W and its very, very powerful. Well worth the money!

the CD radio units are quite cheap nowadays... im sure you will be able to go halves with someone.
have had mine for over 6 years now, still good, and i think i only have 25 main channels....
