OBD2 Scanner
Hello everyone,
I recently came into some trouble with my RX8 which has been fixed now (thanks to DMRH!) but it seems like it has logged an error code and my engine light wont go off (even after an ECU reset). Just wondering if anyone in the Sydney area (western if possible) would be able to hook up a scanner to find out what the problem is.
The car seems to be running fine, I just dont like going around with an engine light on, better to be safe than sorry.
Thanks guys!
Mike

I just bought one of these OBD-II reader from www.jaycar.com.au electronics.
it has worked flawlessly for a few weeks now and has read and cleared codes for me. I would recommend one to anyone who wants to know whats happening to their car.

thanks envy, went and bought myself one this morning, checked and cleared the codes (P0037 and P1688) then after a drive to work one came back again (P0037). Anyone know what it means? Searching the forums now, the DTC Library that i downloaded says "H02S Heater Control Circuit Low (bank 1,sensor 2)"

P1688 is Meter Oil Pump control unit initial check problem.
HO2S is that oxygen sensor?
The manual said it is either the connector or the HO2S itself malfunction. Or there is a short to power supply from the sensor (between rear HO2S terminal D) and to PCM (terminal 2A - need to find the map for the PCM for that). I hope it is not the PCM itself malfunction.

yeh ive searched the forums and it is the rear sensor, COULD (and hopefully) be just a loose plug, but probably need a new sensor, and hopefully that is all that is wrong.
Maybe sound like a stupid question, but where is the rear sensor?
