Talking Octane Booster

I have purchased a bottle of high performance octane booster. I was wondereing whether this can be used on rotarys. Iv'e emailed them hoping to get an answer back but do you guys know if it is possible? I am currently using Shell OptiMax 98 ron this product depending how much you put in will increase the ron by up to 6 ron.

Here is the address to the site.

Do you guys recommend products such as these?

Octane boosters have a negligible effect on octane and a sizeable effect on your wallet. Sorry. I can't see any benefit of increased octane in an rx-8 anyway. The only reason I run 98 octane is for safety reasons. Same reason I run trailing spark plugs all round.

Personally? I wouldn't touch that stuff with a barge pole. If you want to get a buzz, buy some race fuel ... I'm sure captain Hymee will know a spot in Brissie to get your maulers on some.

There was an article in a car mag several months ago about octane boosters. They did all sorts of tests and found that the different kinds have different effects on the differnt fuels you can buy. In some cases the octane boosters actually lowered the octane rating!

I think it was the "104" one which did the best.....personally, I would expect that if you get one that actually increases the octane it should make a difference to your perfomance due to the computer being able to run more advanced ignition timing....

LOL

There should be a Darwin Award for websites that can actually kill the very business they're trying to promote.

It was probably all the yellow that attracted L&L :D

Well I didn't know that!!

It is a good effort then... there is still a major designing errors that need attention of ... if he plans to make a career out of it that is.

I am a bit emotional this week as I am doing work and afterhours I am doing my website. I think I can finish it around next week or the week after.

Sorry L&L, this is 2003 and websites should no longer be marketing dress rehearsals. OK, a good effort for a 14yo (child labour :D) but I hope the guys in their labs are older and more experienced!

The front page should have a note at the bottom as it loads... something like "This site was designed by Rodney ... aged 14" or something.

BTW, I've actually seen some very impressive graphics work by kids.

This sort of thing hurts a business, you can't even find a phone number - just not a smart move IMO.

Without prior knowledge, things like this can only be judged on face value and the internet has become a real business battle ground...

I agree too risky to put your business with an ameture not alone with kids!!!

Danagerous move... hopefully my friend cannot see this as I did a website for him..

Not very nice in my standard now but he can manage himself afterwards...

See what you think... www.letour.com.au

On the octane issue (is that what this thread is about?!), I like the nylon pro octane booster. Some years back tested all the brands including nitous found Nylon increase RON by 7 points from 95 RON (normal premium - when I think Optimax just came out then) to about 102 RON. I sort of impressive and add Pro strength Octane booster to Optimax in my DC2 - it make it smoother and more power when VTEC fires. Bottom line I believe it!!!

takahashi.

The goldem rule ... "contact us" does not mean throw a form in my face and we'll contact you!

Imagine this ... you see something you like, you've got money in your pocket, you want to spent it... you hit the "contact us" buttom.

YOU LOSE!!!

If you can't anticipate the user experience on the other end of the browser interface DO NOT BUILD A WEB SITE FOR BUSINESS.

This is really harsh, but I'm trying to pass on a lesson, not make friends with this statement.

PM me if you want to talk/take this further - I'm not hostile, just passionate

Kev.
