For me it falls into the cbf category.
I doubt it gets hot enough in non-outback areas to warrant it but those with FI would probably want it.

oil temp is never an issue even I tracked on a 42 degree day at Winton.
Forget it just get a twin oil cooler.
By the way, at 100 mph - there will be more air going through the cooler than any fan provides. Plus, the fan itself may prevent air flowing pass freely from the back, particularly if it is operating, blowing air at the back.... it will just bugger the air flow.
It will, however, extremely good for the stop start traffic. Then again, the oil temp is not at the operating temperature within 10-20 minutes of stop start... to make me think the fan will be useful.

I have seen my oil temp go nuts doing some windy hill roads.
I doubt this kit will help .au cars much. I don't over heat in traffic I overheat when moving. a second oil cooler like the US cars would be better IMO.

I know this is off topic but is your RX8 still supercharged? Will you be coming to the Nationals with it?

unfortunately work commitments will keep me away from this nationals. I will make it to a nationals one day!
the supercharger is off the car at the moment. but is should be back on next weekend![Fingersx](https://www.rx8club.com/images/smilies/fingersx.gif)
new I have new pulleys with a wider belt and even more boost from my last combo![Evil Laughter](https://www.rx8club.com/images/smilies/evil_laughter.gif)
I'll probably blow the motor considering my no tune policy

it is a custom rotrex install at the moment but a kit would be then next step when I'm happy with it.
a centrifugal sc like the rotrex or procharger will only ever give you a minor boost down low. how much boost you can run up high anf gearing is the limiting factor.

The Fans would be good though IF you are constantly stuck in slow bumper to bumper grid lock, apart from that, natural air flow will do.

I'm looking for a way to keep oil temperatures under control under a very specific worst case scenario - After at least an hour of highway driving in 98F/37C or greater ambient temperatures, needing to be able to idle the car with the air conditioner running for ten to twenty minutes or more. For that reason, I'd wanted to install oil cooler fans; but the Fluid kit isn't available any longer and I haven't been able to find out what diameter those fans were. I do think I will try opening up the fender vents as shown in this thread.

Doing ASH's mod is your best bet. The fans will actually restrict flow at speed. Or you could go my route ![Smilie](https://www.rx8club.com/images/smilies/smile.gif)
