ordered goodies today

I ordered some mods for my car today.

Hymee my apologies. I've ordered a Cat Back system from ProMaz and intake thats shown me 19Kw gains. The system is un-noticable at idle or cruise which is exactly what I need. Only under throttle it screams. Its not all that loud but just adds attitude to the car. The cost is in the hi-flow resignators/mufflers. $1350 for intake and exhaust.

Also ordered my 35mm drop re-sets which will all be here around the 17th or march! Yipee. $250.

Then a piggy back when I see the gains from them and should be running an easy low 13. great for street.

Kas,

No need for any appologies. I know my exhaust is not expensive enough for some.

Just show us the proof of the 19kW gains you think you got. Quote: "that has shown me 19kW". At the wheels or the flywheel.

My turn to appologise Kas, but I reckon you have been had. But do let us know when you crack a low 13 on the strip as well! (G-Force is not admissible evidence).

Cheers,
Hymee.

its still on order. havent got it yet.

I guess 1 of the main reasons above others is the system suits what i want/need for noise which above all is most important to me followed closely by power.

Kas,

Sorry my post was asking the questions like you already had it, but some of the statements you made indicated you already experienced these things. Very indicated - the sort of claims I would expect to come from someone who has experienced it. Did you drive a demo or something?

I'm interested that the cat-back has a resonator in it. None of the other cat-backs I have seen do, nor does the stock. The standard resonator is in the mid-pipe.

Interested to get the pics and driving impressions when you get it fitted up.

Cheers,
Hymee.

oh yes. I did drive 1 today.

Simon at ProMaz has it fitted to his car so thats how I tested it.

I'll get all the detail when it all arrives and is installed. Also, they use the standard air box for the intake system. dont know how but they did some tricky stuff in there.

Little tricks = big $$

It is a good thing the stock airbox is being retained. Do you know what you are actually paying for then??

I am amazed at how some of us go out of our way to provide detail and share information with others, then some guys go an get something fitted they know nothing about.

Has anyone here investigated the ProMaz standard air box intake system?

On the other side of the coin (I am a balanced sort of fella)... I suppose, some people don't care about the details, as long as they belive it goes better, or get promised it will "make a big difference".

Cheers,
Hymee.

Hymee...

The oldest rule of marketing is that consumers are not perfectly rational.

If we were rational, everyone would buy the same things...

Emotion (ego/pride etc) plays a big part

So true, in health care, expensive = rip off (quality doesn't come into the equation)

Obviously hymees system sin't anygood because nobody has heard of the tuning house of hymee and it's cheap........

read the dudes posts, I think he knows what he's on about, certainly above my head, and I've been involved in motorsport for years.

Go figure.........

Well i run a marketing company and i can tell you now people in most cases will not act on logic but as pricer stated it "emotion". And opinions (even useless ones) play a big part in some1s decision.

And buying cars is perhaps the most quintessential example of 'emotion' coming into play. We all thought we acted rationally in choosing the 8, right? Wrong! On any rational assessment, taking into account the laws of the land and any sense of commitment to efficiency and the environment, the rational decision would perhaps be a Mazda2 or 3

I have been running the Promaz setup since early November. KN filter is in airbox and exhaust has great street sound. Cost for me was a lot less as I got mild steel exhaust.
It is all in the demo, if you can sit in one and drive before you buy, it is worth the bucks. A bit like internet shopping, you will never replace the touch/feel and try before you buy thing in real life.
As for the extra Kw, my bumometer cannot really notice any difference and I knew that when I got it. After reading all the posts on the forum, i doubt anyone would put their left gonad on the line to guarantee too many extra Kw.
My estimate would be maybe 5kw in total, if that. I was the prototype boy though so some improvements may have been made.
Now, who wants new mag wheels!

Sounds like the K&n filter is a replacement of the original filter with a washable type. I understand you can pick one up for around $100. You will get some induction sound from this, however not as much as you would get from the typhoon system.

As for the Kw gains I guess this needs to be tested before any clains can be made

I publicly did. 2kW at wheels, but never publicly believed there would be many to be had anyway. I would like to call any claims for higher, um, "chucking".

Cheers,
Hymee.
