OT: Brockie Dead??

Sky News is reporting PB was killed today at a racetrack in WA when his car hit a tree.

Hope they are wrong...

He was competing in the tarmac rally Targa West 2006. He'd just got in from London, his flight arrived so late that his co-driver qualified the car for the prologue.

Sad news indeed.

In a bizarre connection to Steve Irwin's death, Brockie was at the Goodwood Revival Historic meeting in the UK last week.......driving a Corvette Stingray.

Burning the candle at both ends specially at his age is a NO NO , JET LAG AND DRIVING FAST CARS IS NOT A GOOD MIX .

Pity i have fond memories of his racing days .

Heading out on the town tonight and i will have a drink and a few lap dances for PB AND SI .

Michael

Sad to hear Gomez. Cheerio Pete...

And just up the road from here too. Gidgie is the next place along from us.

I spotted a grey RX8 in Mundaring this morning (rego: --LUVNIT or, similar) with a sticker on it for RX8club.com.au on it (that's the one Timbo and Hymee run isn't it?). Just popped back here to see if it belonged to a poster here, but saw this thread instead... Maybe the driver was off to watch the Targa?

Bummer...

Yeah, I guess they died doing what they loved.

We should all hope for that same fate.

RIP Brockie.

At least he went out doing what he loved and had a few more years on the planet than Steve Irwin (no little kids either).

He had a lot of mates in the media. The frenzy is gonna be intense.

Must be the week for sad news. Found out this arvo that a mate's second bub has come up with a major defect on ultrasound.

When I read that I was shocked. I'm still shocked.

He was doing what he loved though, at least that is consolation. I'd hate to die in this place!

Tis a sad week for Australia.

He will be missed.

I am really concerned that a lot of high profile, generous, charasmatic people are dying, it could mean that I am next.

He was a legend over here in NZ as well .
He was one Aussie I used to like watching even when he was wasting the kiwi drivers.
