If people are interested, we can get this setup quickly.
Basically, have a regional SMS opt-in list, (which we can manage on theSMSzone.com) - maybe have a couple of trusted users setup as listadmins who can be notified in the event of a spontanous cruise who can then use the bulk SMS'ing feature we have on our site to broadcast a short notification.

How about everyone who is interested PM Kunz with their mobile number and suburb? He can then set up regional groups.
If a cruise is going to traverse more than one region, the chief admin can decide if one or more regions get the message.
Kunz, I suggest you think about how to make this happen and then start a new thread laying it out and inviting participation. Posting links to the thread in the Discussion and NSW forums in the .au site would be a good idea.

As for starting a thread about it etc, as you probably know from the past couple of weeks, things have happened around here and I think its best if i leave that sort of work to someone else (I nominate you!) - only because I dont have time to answer to silly* and childish* OT comments/remarks which I'm sure will infest the thread in due course.
Either way, I think its a great idea as I almost always find myself getting into impromptu cruises (organised by other clubs) and due to the recent 'events' here on the forums, have been reluctant to post details here as someone almost always has something negative to say..hey, I dont mind criticism, but its been a bit over the top IMHO.
Anyway..we have the resources so there really isnt much of a reason NOT to spoil it for the rest of us here.
Bugger, its almost 4am, off to bed.

im HAPPY now... finally jumped in MY 8 just before midnight and went for a back street/city drive.... will do more driving with the gf tomorrow and sunday.....
new car shopping tomorrow morning!
