Dont stress Dave. The day is happening regardless...consider it a Christmas present (albeit a slightly backhanded one ).

The way the weather's been lately, I'd pack snow tyres!

Btw, will be a VERY cautious trip down for me. Ran out of luck on Saturday and got nailed by plod. Has been a while since I had to cough up to the bluebloodsuckers, so am not happy! Haven't they got better things to do than worry about open stretches of freeway...

(yes, yes, before the holier than thou boring ******* all write in, I should know better, all my fault, etc, etc, etc...whatever!)

Hahaha, nope - got done fair and square, so I just have to suck it up and cop it sweet . Although quite a few inventive defences did run through my mind...

And yes, I'll be sitting quietly in the back dressed as the Stig conserving energy for the track...

Hey guys, there is limited time for us to arrange everything. Please help us by putting the form and money up ASAP.

We are due of losing lots of money over this and the track is next to empty. Come on, be supportive...

With the strong and unforgiving tactics by the hirer, it is unfortunately WILL BE OUR LAST TRACK DAY! So enter quick!

Now you guys you have to enter COZ it WILL BE the last track day EVER from the Mazda RX-8 Owners Club of Victoria until the staff of Winton will change their style of operation.

There are so many track days run by Winton staff so the interest to our days are thinning from non-RX8 owners. I am totally fed up with this and I plea for your support.

Club is losing money will along this year to support the love of motorsport or just the love of driving. We will do it even the club account is in the red and the committee member has to put their own money to it.

It gives me the ***** that all these young wannabes crap on in here about their whiz bang mods but hardly any of them are prepared to attend track days, when mods make the most sense.

Ok, it's not for everyone but I really don't understand why out of a forum community in the hundreds we struggle to find a miserable 20 cars.

Pussies!

It used to surprise me once, but no longer -- and I have to say that members of this forum are generally more participative than most others I've experienced.

The rule of thumb I'd work on is there's 100 KBWs* to one true player; in the RX-8 forum it's around 50:1

Sorry to hear that Otto, you'll be missed mate.

As for Timbo's and Takahashi's remarks, I'm sure that's right. Talk is cheap and you certainly find a lot of it in car forums. It is frustrating though when good people burn time and money putting these things on and all the 'talkers' hang back with excuse after excuse why they can't attend. Oh well, they can enjoy vacuuming the cat while we have the real fun, hehehe...

Don't worry Dave, I also feel your pain. Not only lawyers, but ambos and even police get stung from time to time going a few k's over when attending to a 'non urgent' job. It happens all the time.

BTW I hope you have a great time at Winton. Its a shame we don't have any Queensland representation, but perhaps you can do it our behalf...?

Thanks Trev, I'll be the honorary northerner, lol. I'll try to remember to speak slower and use simpler words...

As for the bluey, that's life. Although annoyed at the time I've always believed that if you take the chance, you take the punishment . Just had to vent, hehehe...

Dave, I have used that "talk down" tactics. It will not change someone's mind.

Now there are so many hands on the track day business and in fact only a handful (less than 200 people in Victoria) tracks frequently... it is a very hard stuff to do now.

Fair enough Taka. Just venting more than anything.
