Plan C : Extended RENESIS Engine Warranty Campaign Goes To Mazda JAPAN

OK..

Well as most of you can see our Australian Campaign with Mazda Australia to look at an Extended Engine Warranty period similar to the USA has failed.

See attached return Mazda Australia Letter from John Read to one of our members.^^^

If you have not received your letter I would think you should sometime this week.

For those who took the effort and time to write and email Mazda Australia, a big THANK YOU.

So the campaign is far from over... I am now going to petition Mazda Motors Japan CEO and Managing Director.

I would like ALL of you Australian Owners of RX-8's to help out this time , even if your RX-8 is no longer covered under Mazda's 3 Year Factory Warranty.

This time there are NO Excuses as to why you can not involve a little of your time.

With the help of Dave ( I have not asked him yet, OK Dave? ) we will draft a letter that will accompany the vehicle information you provide on this thread.
I will post the letter here to MMC once it is drafted, so you can all read it.

What we need from you guys NOW are the following Vehicle Identification Details...

YOUR NAME:
RX-8" CHASSIS NUMBER: JMOFE1031............
DELIVERY DATE (Date Of Purchase):
KILOMETERS:

That is ALL, I will comply the list and as I said later post it here with the letter to Mazda Japan, so you can all read it....later..

SO PLEASE GET TO IT, THERE ARE NO EXCUSES......JUST DO IT!

Big Thanks
Ash

What does "it was a show of confidence for North American consumers unfamiliar with the rotary engine..." mean?

I'm sure Rotary God, Swoope, Mazda Maniac etc would be pissed off no end if they read this. Its an insult to the intelligence of the whole RX8 community.

I'll fire a letter into Japans Head office, but I won't expect a reply. They won't risk international conflict, and put it back on Mazda Australia's own policy anyhow.

Ash are you going to thread this up to US discussion????? Maybe that will generate some fire power....

It means they have so much confidence in the engine they can offer that warranty because you wont need it.

Ash, really sorry, I started to draft a letter specific to me and never finished it. I will try to get through it for this one.

Cheers

Mazda Australia are owned by Japan, I think it is worth a shot.

Personally, I am pretty disgusted in John Reads response, not because we got nowhere but because of his insulting and patronizing drivel, It just goes to show the drongos that are in high management at Mazda Australia who really do not deserve being Australia's 4 th largest car maker, it is certainly not from any effort this guy has done.

look, the reality is Mazda America have only adopted this 8 years warranty plan for one reason..any failure of Mazda's Rotary this time round would put an end to it because the American market is king and at the forefront of all car makers.
MNAO could not afford their halo car to be a mechanical failure, having said that it is also a PR exercise to and cheaper to reman engines in the US rather than import complete units from Japan like Mazda Australia does.

The old economy of scale.

Trev, go ahead if you want to inform the US guys, somehow I think they will find out by the morning.

To me, confidence meant that Mazda Australia should follow Mazda North America's footsteps and offer that 8 year warranty.

Korean carmakers offer 5 year warranty as standard.
Mitsubishi offers 5 year warranty as standard.

To call the 3 year warranty as competitive is not good enough for me. Period.

Ash, I've sent my details via PM.
You have my support.

I just got a Mitsubishi and the 5year warranty is the whole car but the second part of the warranty is a 10 year warranty on engine block, engine internals, exhaust, intake, gearbox, diff, basically every mechanical part! Plus 5 years free roadside assist. As far as I know it is across the whole Mitsubishi range even the Evo's! That is what I call a good warranty arrangement..

For those concerned about their identity in posting here, PM's are OK, so if you want to PM me with your details they will not be posted here for others to view...
although I don't not know what others can get from chassis number, but so be it.

I am thinking if I cant get at least 200 RX-8 owners then I will be wasting our time..

SO COME ON GUYS GET TO IT...PLEASE!
