Putting holes in my RX8

Putting holes in my RX8
Well I finally got the nerve to drill the holes in the boot to install the factory spoiler. All went well with the drill behaving itself and not going walkabout on the boot.
The colour match was excellent even though the spray painter kept warning me that the velocity red looks different on metal or plastic before he took the job.
I also had the front and rear mudflaps painted and fitted them as well. I was worried the mudflaps might look a little dowdy but they really fit the style of the car well.
Finally I also got the soldering iron out and made the holes in the back bumper to fit the exhaust finishers. A pretty big week for my DIY skills, now all I have to hope is that nothing falls off :p

Congratulations - I'm impressed.. I would not even trust the dealer to drill holes in my boot to install a spoiler... Are you going to show us a couple of pictures??

I have a fairly long extension cord but I dont think it will stretch to Brisbane.
I took plenty of how to photos but haven't got them on the computer yet. I just couldn't bring myself to let anyone just do a quickie job on my spolier install. The spoiler also comes with stronger gas struts for the boot and I wonder how often these are thrown out and not used by busy body shops.
We are planning a Brisbane trip later in the year to see our beloved Lions play some AFL. If they lose I may have to go on drilling rampage up there :D

Well looks like I tipped the right team then GO LIONS
Plenty of time left this year Taka. North Melbourne are my second team but my Mazdas will always be number ONE.
Now for another hole in the RX8 . Where can I drill the hole to wave the flag out of after the lions win another game :D

Can you possibly post some pictures of your flaps?
I was looking at them in the accessories catalogue, but haven't seen them fitted to a car.
