Why would I? I didn't race.
Unless you're referring to your time which is highly commendable :D
I've fixed the leak and got an aftermarket exhaust since I was last out there, so I'm getting very keen to go back. Particularly after seeing all those photos.

I meant from previous outings, mate.
Since V8 Supercars spit flames, I can't call 'em rice. I remember when only turbos and rotars spat flames - in fact I took a great photo of a rotar spinning a huge fireball coming into hungry at Lakeside years ago. Then - at last - the V8's started to do it as well!
Cheers,
Hymee.

Your wish is my command
Finally, some video to download to your hard disk to show it in action. Videos taken in an RX-8 6 speed on the track.
Hot Laps (33 Mb)
First time out on this track.
Got him when game enough.(6 Mb)
Pass - then spin! (12 Mb)
Mitsubishi wanted to make trouble. Then a big 'moment'. See the ABS and DSC lights come on. DSC = "single off" mode.
Passing 3rd Gen RX-7 (5 Mb)
I think he was still letting the sphinkter calm down after an earlier spin!
Hymee Exhaust Flames (4Mb)
Watch the left tail pipe in front at about 2 seconds in.
Enjoy!
I have a full 20+ minutes on DVD as well :D
Cheers,
Hymee.

Thanks Pete!
I'm new to the world of digitial video. I think the file I downloaded from the camera via firewire has dropped frames. I need to have another look, and compare to the DV Tape.
A guy on the MultiMedia forum thought it was quick:
Whoa - I am the dude! Hehehe. I told him it actually got to 170 once or twice before turn 1
The DSC and the ABS both did their parts in helping with that spin. Perhaps once the spin was saved enough they kicked in.
How did you like the Magna? I was always going to pass him in that last short straight, but in the breaking area I decided not to go in to hot - just in case. Thankfully! Hymee wasn't too impressed I can tell you
Cheers,
Hymee.

look at his speed, whoa. I thought the 8 topped off at 155 and in the last vid it said 161.

161mph in 4th :D
Yeah I thought that was an incredibly stupid chop. Had you have braked late he probably would have had to let you through because you would have his turn-in blocked, but you shouldn't have to put your car on the line to get past anyone.
You have the same gearing problem I had at turn 1 -> 4th is too high for turn in so you have to grab third VERY late. Sometimes too late

Hi guys,
Great to see everyone had a great day. I have been really busy since I went so this the first time I have been on the forum since the track day.
Well done to Hymee for some great times. (I need to practice more)
Thanks to the other guys in rotaries who allowed us to share their pit lane bays.

I know what you mean about brakes - the Commodore exhibited that problem.
The RX-8 has large rotors, but still only 2-pot calipers. John Tetley told me he has only seen 2 makes of car come to the track in street trim and not have brake problems - RX-8s and some Porsche model.
Thanks for being a gentleman on the track. You can see I was nervous about the Magna dude, and rightly so!
Cheers,
Hymee.
