As I said to Kall via PM, this kind of thing has no legal status.
It's merely a busybody kind of thing, the contents of which would never be admissable against you. I suppose it might assist police to target a particular vehicle but if you're not doing anything wrong most of the time they'll soon get bored with that.
Query whether it's defamation either. Only the car is being identified, not the driver.
Of course, there's nothing stopping anybody from telling the most scurrilous lies about you, so the whole concept has zero credibility.
I wouldn't worry about it.

sites like this and the rate my teacher, boyfriend, boss, etc deserve as much credibility as they require proof...and that is none.
My rego will read:
This guy is a mass murdering psycopath who appears to have figured out which side of the road to drive on. I have often seen him drive at speeds in excess of 500km/h.
And it will all be true...because its on the interweb!

Precisely Andrew.
Why give them oxygen by publicising them?
I predict it'll have a brief novelty value and then die off once people realise how flawed the whole idea is.

And theres nothign wrong with what he or she has done. They have recorded an observation of a publicly available record (i.e. a registration plate number). There have been no violations of privacy (which by the way "violations" or "invasions" of privacy do not exist between legal persons as a tort in Australia) nor does it come within the guidelines of the National Privacy Principle (NPP), because the legislation only applies to corporations (and infact, small corporations need not even abide by the NPPs)

Doesn't matter.
The report time could be off, it could be a server assigned/generated time, running on US time - have you thought about that?
In Australia we do NOT have a right to free speech. We have an IMPLIED constitutional right to the Freedom of Political Communication. Which safe guards our ability to formalise and conduct political movements.
"un truths" or unfounded fact is not necessarily actionable, unless it is slander or libel, but in this case libel, because it is published. The matter of the fact is however, its got to bring the person's name in to disrepute, against a localised audience.
I highly doubt that any action for defamation could exist.
