RB flywheel > MS flywheel + agency pully?

RB flywheel is more lighter and efficient than MS flywheel.
https://www.rx8club.com/attachment.ph...0&d=1094168284
as above graph depicts difference.

My question is Would RB flywheel be more efficient than MS flywheel + Agency underdrive pully?

Ignoring all the negative effect of underdrive pully. ( on alternators like a/c )
Just for performance.

RB flywheel > MS flywheel + Agency pully?

or other way? perhaps very similar.

Other questions...what hp gain can i expect from few bolt-ons like;

RE-exaust manifold
RE- super dolphin muffler ( Ti one was too expensive..lol )
K&N Typhoon
MS flywheel = less loss of power.. hence gain? @ 1st and 2nd gear

Rather than gain on power, I think car is much more responsive

Planning to get AFE short shifter from http://www.performancedesign.com.au/$435 AUD including GST + shipping.
And agency pully. ( still reading reviews )

having all those mods. which warranties would/should have expired?? ( including pully )

almost everything except engine?

On the topic of Flywheels, lighter isnt necessarily better. Its where the weight is that I believe is more important. The example that gets thrown around is to use a broom, take say a 5kg weight and put it on the brush end. Now hold the other end and try spinning around holding the broom out in front. Next move the weight half way down the brrom handle and try it again. Its a lot easier when the weight is closer to the centre and would be easier to spin a heavier weight in the middle of the broom than a lighter one at the end.

I would also say that its pointless comparing 1 flywheel with another + a pulley set.

And on the rest, there is plenty of information around about the claimed HP gains on those items. check japanparts.

Before and after dyno on the same dyno would be your only precise indication.

Aluminum flywheel does not normally withstand heat as well as alloy flywheel. If you prepare.

Absolute weight is not important, as Andrew said what is in the peripheral that counts. The stock flywheel is not very heavy, but solidly built that the major of the weight is not in the center.

My $0.02. Keep your MS flywheel.

BTW - too light of a flywheel will loose torque, if not - they are prob heavy on the outside to compensate... to me what is the point then (as you may have a weaker center).

Get the strongest yet the lightest is the key... I wonder who has the time to test all the flywheel like RXP33D suggested and show the torque power curves.. haha

taka, are you saying that the peak torque will be less or that the torque peak will be encountered sooner? I thought the ideal would be to have the torque kick in as early as possible?

I don't think the torque curve will change with a lower weight part, will it? Our ECU will be that clever..

BTW I nearly burnt my clutch today, but that is another story...

Thanks for the repies.

So point is have strong as well as keep light?

and also having too light flywheel might lose peak torque?

i may get the idea wrong,

but being light means it can reach almost max torque quicker but maybe bit less maximum torque?

would having light weight pully help to bring up the torque to reach maximum earlier than stock? but maybe loss maximum torque?

i'm getting confused... can someone help me out...lol

all mixed up..

o..these mods will expire my tranny/engine warranty as well??
