The Recall Flash is the "B" Flash.

N3ZKE000013H6050 was the PCM CalID on my car when Taka put sCanalyser on my car back in March. I had the fuel tank recall and reflash done on my car this week and Taka has just checked my CalID again.

The current Australian flash ID is N3ZKEB00013H6050. He checked a few other cars that have had the recall done when we met up for a pre-nationals chat this arvo. All had the same CalID.

Cheers,
Gomez.

"B" flash on manuals obviously. We didn't have any auto's there to check their CalID. Taka would have posted this info himself, but he's still in the cooler......until Monday apparently.

N3ZKE000013H6050

Report from car with sCANalyser after:
CalID N3ZKEB00013H6050

So it looks like the CalID numbering goes like:

N3ZKE000013H6050

N3ZKE is a series and the 0 is the original flash for that series..
13H6050 (I guess) stands for RX-8

In N3ZKEB00013H6050

The B represents the second revision for that series..

Compare with an older series:

N3J6EH00013H6050

N3J6E is the older (factory series) this series is at its 8th revision.. (My car ex-factory just before the fire)

Any other CalIDs that we can have a look at?? This is getting really interesting..

the letter after the E is always the calibration level . the letters before that identify it by car, transmission and model year and region. The difference between the N3J series and N3Z series is like going from version 1.xx to version 2.xx. there was an overlapping period where the last J flash was the same as the first released Z flash. All cars will be brought on to the Z levels. The numbers after all that have something to do with the Model of PCM it is for i believe. havent confirmed that.

I have also used the (gasp) search engine for other CalIDs and notice that North America has:

N3H6EM00013H6020

N3H6EK00013H6020

H6, J6, ZK are the Major version numbers of the Flash??

Perhaps the numbers at the end are region codes (ie 20 = US and 50 = OZ)

13H = Manual 13B engine??

N3 = RX-8 ??

It would be good to see some CalIDs from Mazda 3s, Auto RX-8s and European Rx-8s as a comparision..

Do you think they will be that organised in the Mazda factory??? :D

I thought it is just a random typed number like this: NFHJD4776H02139 :D

Having a closer look at the previous flash:

number 13 is always there followed by an "H". The 4 digits after that is 6050. N3H6 is common in most flash and it is now N3ZK for us and the number or letter behind the E is different ....

sorry.. you're right E and B look the same if you squint. Wish I could blame a keyboard fumble... but they're nowhere near each other (not even on a Dvorak one).

Confirms my theory - the older cars are on a different series to the 2005 cars - I am kicking myself for not checking Ltd's car (if he would have let me of course) at the pre-nats meeting.. :o

Up she goes!

There's talk of a new flash -- better economy is one suggestion. Does anyone have any details or further information? Where are we up to on flashes now?
