How about I just pick it up and drive it down for you when it is done.
Save you the time and trouble of coming all the way back up to QLD that way you can sit back and relax.

I promise to drive it slow all the way home, I wont even test the SC out.

I'm fortunate to have so many charitable friends.

Anyway, we'll work out delivery down the track. Long way to go yet kids...

<me settles back to patiently await delivery of kit and installation details from Danny>

Congrats Dave, Hymee's work is always very well sorted/made with Good Quality Parts, and Beautifully Finished, looking forward to your progress diary in this thread...

On the Horsley's Turbo-ed 8 (or Kit) I got the inside that the "Factory" said definitely NO..

Shortly i will buy a series 2 RX8 and let the Hymster play around with it and get his twin screw Supercharger ON IT .

Hopefully it shouldnt take him tooo long to sort out the series two quirks

Want to use it for a daily and keep the FD RX7 for weekends

Danny's due to get his kit from Hymee today or tomoz, so the installation learning process can get started. However, it'll be when he installs another kit on his RX8 that it will get properly documented. That's a few more weeks away yet.

He's organising a local dyno for tuning purposes and has got the tools from Mazda's supplier to do compression tests before installation. Has an ex-Mazda tech employed who knows RX8s inside out. He's getting right behind this kit and aiming to deliver a thorough installation and initial tune 'one stop shop'. Those following his race car build will already know his attention to detail.

So, progress elsewhere which will lead to progress for me.

Woo hoo, the kit is almost ready and the wait for some real results is just around the corner.

I may look into this for next years sprint series at QR. It will put me in the same category as the GTR so I hope it will give me 57 second lap times to be competitive.

Sorry, a little cryptic.

The dude who is going to install mine has received his first kit, so he's guinea pig #1. Once he's installed both of his (1 for his race car, 1 for his RX8), mine will get in the pipeline, so hopefully I'll be guinea pig #2.

So, still two degrees of separation on my kit but it's progress dammit and I'm excited!!

Are you considering a "before" and "after" dyno run? Might be interesting

I'll have a think about that but if it adds too much cost and hassle probably not. I'll speak with Danny about it when we get closer to install time.

To be honest, I'm sure it'll have enough for my needs and posting numbers just invites a pissing contest. But I agree it's interesting info to have.

Meh, we'll see...

Is a rebuild in order for the excisting RX8 Engine or a you just going to strap on the Supercharger and hope for the best ?

What happens if a compression test shows your motor to be .>>.>worn or on its way out .

Dave's is only just run in, isn't it?

I'd get a dyno run done, before and after. It provides interesting information for you -- you don't have to post the results. It's just a couple of hours and maybe $120-$150 in total for the 2 runs

Ahh come on Dave get er done.

Us voyeurs want to know what the numbers are before we decide to lay down our money on the kit.

I'll chip in a 20 spot to help cover the cost if you want or maybe you could get Hymee to pay for it as advertisement.

congratulations on taking the big step. I'm sure you will like the extra power

it is more about how it feels to you. dyno numbers mean little other than bragging rights. there is always a faster car out there and competing cost big money.

I'm yet to hit 60k and other than common ignition issues (now sorted) the engine has been fine. I will do a compression test (Danny has accquired the Mazda spec tools to do so) and make any further decisions based on the results of that.

We'll see. Danny has arranged for a local dyno tuner to assist with tuning, so much will depend on logistics, etc once the car is up there. As I said, if it doesn't add too much cost and hassle I'll consider it but the main game is getting the kit installed and initial tuning sorted out...

I wouldn't make a decision based on numbers if I were you. It really depends what you want to achieve. Numbers can be an end in themselves to some people whereas I want to concentrate on driveability and match the car to my current track skills (and lack thereof!).

If you're really keen on dyno numbers though, why not see if Danny plans to 'before and after' his RX8??
