Following message received today from the House of Hymee:
NEWSFLASH!!!!
RX-8 SUPERCHARGER KIT
We are pleased to advise that your supercharger kit is currently at the assembly stage of production. All major machining of components are complete and have been anodised. The process has taken longer than anticipated due to further development taking place on our R & D car, we have been trying to ensure the best possible kit available to our customers, encompassing performance, practicality and aesthetics. For instance a new remote oil filter block and oil filter adapter have been designed and machined for better fitment (original oil filter was too difficult to change when the supercharger kit was in place). We believe we have produced a production type supercharger kit that is up to world standards in design and performance.
We hope to be have assembly and packaging ready for shipping in early January. Please ensure all address details for shipping are up to date to ensure prompt delivery of your supercharger kit.
If you have any queries in regards to dispatch please contact mark@performancedesign.com.au or sales@throttlebodiesaust

I wonder if Mark and team are going to do one for the Series II (09) RX-8's????..
Given the new design and location of the two EMOP's (on top of engine) and other piping, how much modification would be required?...will t fit....is it SAFE!!??

Below is an extract from an update received from Hymee today:
... In the last couple of weeks, the complete supercharger assemblies have been assembled and placed in their custom shipping cartons. I really need to get some pictures of this and some of the other bits that have been added to the kit (i.e. the remote oil filter mount). The Intercoolers have also been delivered, as has the mandrel bent intercooler pipework. Some of this pipework needs to be welded, due to some minimal length restrictions on the mandrel bending machine.
The only outstanding items now requiring manufacture are a short extension loom for the throttle body, a rubber/silicone adaptor ring to mate the MAF tube to the throttle body, and the pressure lines for the remote mount oil filter. The end is definitely in sight!
Don’t forget, if you would like to get another customers opinion on how it is all going, please feel free to contact Danny ... who is a local and has purchased 2 kits....
Danny is well known on this forum as developing a ***** of an MX5 racecar. He is planning on establishing a onestop shop for installation and tuning of Hymee's kit, so Aussies who order one should contact him for details.
Not long now!!!

Just disappointed that I may never get lot of performance parts for this thing, since only a handful of them were sold in Oz, compared to more than 5000 S1's.

Well, after some further unforeseen delays, my car is heading north within the week for major surgery.
Following a compression test, car will be dynoed before anything is done. Aside from the Hymee exhaust, driveline is basically stock, so it should serve as a decent benchmark for percentage power/torque increase.
Danny has offered to take some pics of the install, so I'll post 'em up in due course.
BHR ignition kit also being fitted.
