Good feedback. I thought they might be noisy but reckoned they'd be generally ok in the wet

I've experimented from 34 going up to 38 in recent weeks and although the increased pressure has helped directional stability, they still tramline way more than the PS2's ever did.

I'd have to agree with that. Luckily we don't get much rain generally and I don't need to drive it if I don't want to but it definitely restricts the appeal of this tyre.

Yes I am back from my long Holiday in the Maldives. Very unhappy to be back. I think I found heaven over there!

My feedback on the KU36's is the same. Now that they have worn down some they are not great in the wet. They just give no traction in the wet. They are still very good in the dry but the more they wear the stronger the tram lining becomes. When these are shot I will be looking for a different tyre.

dam-it I was wanting to try the ku36 as my next tyre but you guys are making them sound like ****

I'm quite happy with my toyo t1r's. Although they don't have the grip the skyline owners make out, they are long wearing and a very predictable tyre. they do tram-line, but there is no axel tramp which is good for high hp.

I really want to try something super grippy but I don't know if a semi slick is the answer. maybe a new toy r1r. or maybe I should just bight the bullet and shell out for some Michelin's

I'm heading back to Michelins after these crappy things wear out unless something better comes along.

My advice, don't buy the Kumhos unless you only plan to drive it in the dry on the track.

Well after driving to Newcastle and back this morning I am hating the Kumho's more with each passing mile.

Getting noisier with age and I just have no faith in their wet road grip at all. Wheel spin when you're just pulling away from some lights on moderate throttle (in a car with no low end torque) tells you the story.

I'm never buying a cheap tyre ever again. It can dominate the driving experience like few other components and the savings aren't worth the drop in enjoyment.

I'm coming home Bibendum...just as soon as I can wear the Jap bastards out!

I have no idea why you bought them...

Ah, Dave...every now and then you have to take one for the team. I took mine with those Farkens I had for a while...oh, how I ended up loathing them

It may seem to be myth, but I tell you hand on heart: those tyres were noisy, had no grip -- wet or dry -- and made the ride hard and rough. If they had a redeeming feature, I missed it

Kumho is Korean, not Japanese if you are referring to them... ! I think you may have offended some JDM warriors on this forum lol.

Hahaha, not intended to be racist in any way - just shorthand.

Let me rephrase - "...as soon as I can wear the Korean bastards out!"

I'm blaming Len.

No, I just got sick of shelling out cash on the thing at that stage but I've learnt my lesson now. Never again.

You really need to get some Dunlop Direzza Z1 Star Spec for your car. They are the Dunlop semi slick that I have been using Great in wet and dry, but if temp below 5-6 degrees then can be skittish. Grip like no tomorrow and have nice stiff sidewalls. They are available at TireRack.com for $US 166 each. They deliver direct to your door and you have them fitted at the tyre shop. Cost at todays exchange rate works out to be $A 260 a corner. There is no grippier street tyre out there Just read the reviews and the tests. The Kumho is tested and has good dry grip but is dangerous in the wet.

$60 a tyre importing from the US as SymSym said. I am waiting for a set of 4 to put on my Kluger (40000km and worn them out completely...)

They are $177 for 245/40 R18

For money it is very good, although Bridgestone RE-11 is better but more expensive

Does not have size for my BMW though

Will tirerack.com still ship to Australia? I saw something on another forum that indicated they were no longer

No , they are still shipping. I just got a new set of tyres three weeks ago. I have a good relationship with Connor there and he still allows me to use my Amex card. I think for others they want the money wired over before they will ship, which makes it more time consuming.

Timbo, I just order a set of 4.

As SymSym said, they want the money to electrically transfer via the bank. The problem with that is, in my case, they will need $20 fee from Australia bank and likely $20 for the US bank (which I voluntarily pay because I want a smooth transition). $40 is not much if they are very truthful in their shipment and did not (IMHO) over quote.

I will much prefer a credit card transfer. Paypal will be the best option.

Email them I would say. They respond my email in 24 hours and there is a phone number to call (remember the ext.). Indiana is 5pm when you about to leave for work at 9am.

We had rain here on Sunday and I can now agree with Revolver, the KU36's suck big time in the wet

Admittedly it was very wet and we hadn't had any rain for a while.

Oh well, will just have to wear them out. Any track days coming up
